"Noong Sabado de Gloria ay nakausap namin ang Startalk director na si Floy Quintos.
Nagngingitngit si Direk Floy sa galit nang napanood niya ang episode ng Pinoy Big Brother kung saan nagrosaryo ang housemates sa napa-kalaking rosary beads.
Bilang Katoliko, sobrang na-offend si Direk Floy sa ipinagawa ng mga taga-PBB sa housemates na ginawang challenge ang pagdarasal ng rosaryo sa isang giant rosary beads.
Tila pinaglaruan ang rosaryo para sa commercial na dahilan. Hindi raw nakita sa ilang housemates ang taimtim na pagdarasal. Ang ilan ay maingay at hindi alam ang dinadasal.
"Tulad ng ibang ritwal o dasal ng anumang relihiyon, ang pagdarasal ng rosaryo ay dapat igalang at tratuhin bilang isang sensitibong bagay," pahayag ni direk Floy. "I was shocked when I saw the PBB cast fumbling through the rosary with giant beads.
"What were they trying to prove? The constant muttering, the fumbling, the way the rosary was treated as a game or relay race was offensive to me.
"Sensitivities must be respected; good taste must be observed.
"The rosary cannot be treated as some sort of challenge in a reality show!
"The rosary is not easy to say. I make mistakes, even when I am saying it with a group. ‘Di lalo na kaya ‘yung mga bata.
"It should be said with sincerity, dignity and concentration.
"I don’t blame the PBB housemates. Ginagawa lang nila ang hinihingi sa kanila.
"But PBB creatives and management should have been more sensitive about using the rosary as an element in the show.
"What they did showed only insensitivity," himutok ni direk Floy na hindi matapus-tapos ang gustong iparating sa mga taga-PBB.
"Hindi naman ako perpektong Katoliko, and I have sinned just as much as anyone. But that is why symbols like the rosary must be treated with respect.
"Because flawed humanity needs symbols and rituals to aspire too, to remind us of the need to aspire for God," pagtatapos ni direk Floy Quintos.
