Enough for the Kris-James-Hope and Belo Job Controversy as the ever controversial Ms. Kris Aquino is named Guillermo Mendoza Scholarship Foundation Inc. (GMSFI) Box Office Queen for 2006 tied with Claudine Barretto for the Philippines' all-time box office hit Sukob.
Vic Sotto is named once again for the fourth straight year as Box Office King 2006 for MMFF 2006's 2nd top grosser Enteng Kabisote 3. He also won the same accolade for the movies Fantastikman, Enteng Kabisote 1 and 2.
This is also not the first time for both Kris and Claudine. Kris had her first Box Office Queen title in 1990 for her very first movie, Pido Dida: Sabay Tayo with the late Rene Requiestas then secondly for the movie Feng Shui in 2004.
Claudine was also the Box Office Queen 2002 for the movie Kailangan Kita.
Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, stars of 2006's another hit movie Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo, were snubbed by GMSFI. KKK was MMFF's Topgrossing Movie while Enteng Kabisote 3 starring Box Office King Vic Sotto came in second.
Alfie Lorenzo, Judy Ann's manager, said on his article in Abante, "KASAL, KASALI, KASALO will remain the Year 2006 TOPGROSSER and JUDAY and RYAN are the BOX-OFFICE KING AND QUEEN of 2006!." Or was quoted as saying, "Kaya hindi nga kata-katakang tanghalin pang BOX-OFFICE KING AND QUEEN for the Year 2006 sina Juday at Ryan. Huwag lang magkadayaan at magka-TANGAHAN....."
Juday's camp has not commented to the announcement yet.

Great achievement indeed, but some say, it is appropriate if Sam is awarded with the Most Promising Male Star instead of the distinction Prince of RP Movies, which is an award usually given to actors who have made movies in the previous years.
However, Sam deserves the accolade for making two big hits in 2006, Close To You and You Are The One. By far, this is his second award after winning Best New Male TV Personality of 2006 from PMPC Star Awards.
Another surprise is BJ Forbes. He may be the most popular child actor in 2005, but not in 2006. Nash Aguas for Shake, Rattle & Roll 8 deserves the award more than BJ.
