Russian stunner wins Miss Tourism Queen International 2007

Miss Russia Olga Konstantinovna Zarubina wins as Miss Tourism Queen International 2007, beating 107 other gorgeous candidates during the world finals held last July 31, 2007 in Zheng Zhou, China.

The last time Russia won a grand slam title was in 2003, when Oxana Federova was crowned Miss Universe 2002, but was eventually dethroned few months after.

In MTQI 2007, it's Russia's first time to place and win, after consistently joining the pageant since its conception four years ago.


















Olga Zarubina has already joined 18th Miss Model of the World also held in China last December, 2006. Olga was in the Top 30. She represented Tajikistan though, and not Russia.

An update on the Filipino prisoners in Cebu....

Their interpretation of Michael Jackson's hit Thriller continues to soar high in Youtube. For barely two weeks, the video is currently showing a remarkable achievement, unmatched by any other Filipino-related videos or videos uploaded by a Filipino on Youtube. Just like movies breaking box office records, the video continues to break records in Youtube.

Pinoy prisoners make Philippines proud?

I was browsing Hollywood gossips in Just Jared when I got to see a post entitled Philippine Prisoners Dance "Thriller." At first I thought I misread it, but I read it right. It's really about the Filipino inmates in Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) reenacting Michal Jackson's hit dance-song Thriller. I was really shocked that the video by a certain byronfgarcia posted on Youtube just a week ago, July 17, 2007, would gain so much attention internationally.



In Youtube, the video has been watched 1,082,128 times, has 1,615 comments and has been favorited 6,508 times. Truly amazing, isn't it? It breaks records in Youtube. Here are some of its current honors:

Aside from Just Jared and Youtube, the video is making waves in other foreign sites like Boing Boing, Daddy Types, Universal Buzz, poeTV, asupremenewyorkthing, Morning Cup O' Joe, jibjab and a lot lot more.

In Dlisted, it has been tagged as the gayest prison ever, while in ectoplasmosis, the author said it's one of the greatest things he has ever seen on the internet. One commented that it shows rehabilitation center at its very best while one said that it's time to free the prisoners.

It all happpened in just a week.

Some could not believe they're inmates and generally, the videos draw both positive responses in the whole world, enough to make the Filipinos proud, even if it's thru the prisoners. As they say, it's ONLI IN DA PILIPINS! Michael Jackson will surely be impressed and he needs to speak up about it.
