Miley Cyrus defends leaked photos

Teen star Miley Cyrus, one of Hollywood's breakthrough star for 2007, has photos that leaked online and considered by some as scandalous.

The said photos show Miley with a bestfriend, playing together and sharing over a piece of candy inside a hotel.

Miley, who rose to fame via Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, is only 15 years old and has expressed to Z100 Radio Station in New York last Friday that the pictures were completely innocent snaps of two bestfriends.

According to her, it's just two girls at a sleepover, thus nothing scandalous about it.

This is not the first time though that the teen actress and singer has been figured into a controversy. Back in September, she was rumored to be pregnant, but later found out to be untrue.

The houseguests are finally gone

Sabi pa nga ng isang member ng ABS-CBN forum, the house "pests" (instead of houseguests) are finally gone inside the house.

Surprising ang eviction ngayong gabi sa Pinoy Big Brother sapagkat pinalabas na ang dalawang celebrity houseguests na sina Ethel at Mariel Rodriguez sa Bahay ni Kuya.

Ang akala ng nakararami ay hanggang sa Big Night (January 5, 2008) makakasama ng mga housemates sina Mariel at Ethel, pero bago pa man sumapit ang Bagong Taon ay pinaalis na sila.

Ayon pa nga sa Feng Shui, bago raw mag-New Year, kailangang maglinis daw sa loob ng ating mga bahay at sabi ng iba, maaaring ang pag-alis ng dalawa ay alinsunod sa Feng Shui.

Hindi naman siguro.

Pero hindi maiwasang mag-conclude ng ganito ang mga televiewers sapagkat ang dalawa, partikular na si Mariel, ay nagpakita ng hindi kanais-nais na pag-uugali nitong mga huling araw.

Binigyan daw sila ng tasks ni Kuya para palabasin ang tunay ng pagkatao ng mga housemates, pero sa bandang huli, ang kanilang sariling pagkatao ang syang nahubaran at nailantad sa publiko.

Kagabi nga ay usap-usapan na naman si Mariel dahil sa tahasan nitong pinagmumura ang isa sa mga housemates. Bagamat hindi niya pinangalanan, hindi bobo ang manonood para hindi mahulaan na si Riza Santos ang kanyang pinagmumura dahil sa description niyang "virgin", na alam naman nating lahat na si Riza nga ito.

Ian Porlayagan, not competing for Mister International 2007

For unknown reasons, the Philippines is not being represented in the ongoing Mister International 2007 in Malaysia.

Enlisted Philippine delegate Ian Leonel Porlayagan is not competing for the title. It's unknown though whether he withdrew in the middle of the competition or he failed to arrive in Malaysia.

Three days before Christmas, I saw him at SM Southmall in Las Pinas City. It was the same day of arrival of Mister International 2007 contestants in Malaysia. That's probably one proof that he indeed failed to arrive in Malaysia.

Another Filipino contestant, Mark Figueroa who was supposed to represent Guam, also failed to arrive. Mark is the winner of Ginoong Pilipinas-USA 2007.

To count, there are only 17 contenders for the title of Mister International 2007.

At any rate though, Jennylyn Mercado is still sexy on the said photos and at least, by not showing her all could let us expect more and more of her in the days to come.

I have removed Baron Geisler in Mykiru's Fun Poll after he was evicted from the Pinoy Big Brother house last Wednesday.

Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo's racist remark against Bisaya

I have just watched Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo today and yes, mayroon ngang eksena na kung saan against sina Angie (Judy Ann Santos), Jed (Ryan Agoncillo) at ang kanilang family na magsalita ng Bisaya ang kanilang anak na si Rafa (Timothy Lambert Chan).

"Bakit pinapalaki ninyong Bisaya ang apo ko?" ang tanong ng lola (Gloria Diaz)

At sumagot naman si Angie, “Speak to the kid in Tagalog. Parang Pinoy."

Nag-react agad ang isang senador (Aquilino 'Nene' Pimentel Jr) sa nasabing anti-Bisaya remark ng Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo. Ayon pa sa kanya, nakakainsulto raw ito sa mga Bisaya at dapat daw ituwid ng Star Cinema.

Para sa mga kababayan nating Bisaya, 'wag po kayong magpadala o ma-offend sa nasabing eksena sapagkat hindi naman 'yun ang nais ipakahulugan ng pelikula.

Sina Angie at Jed ay tubong Tagalog at hindi Bisaya, kaya mas nanaisin nilang unang matutunan ng kanilang anak ang salitang Tagalog.

Dahil nga sa mas madalas kausap at kasama ni Rafa ang kaniyang Bisayang yaya, mas natutunan nyang magsalita ng Bisaya.

Sa pagkakataong iyon, ang nais ipaabot na mensahe ay ang dapat pagkakaroon ng sapat na panahon ng mga magulang para sa kanilang anak. Sila mismo ang dapat nakakausap at nakakasama nang madalas sa araw-araw.

For sure, hindi nais maliitin ng pelikula ang salitang Bisaya dahil ang hangad lamang nito ay ang "mas pagkakaunawaan" ng magulang at ng kanilang anak.

Ayon pa nga kay Angie, mas gusto nyang mag-Tagalog ang kaniyang anak dahil matutunan naman daw sa school ang salitang English. Which is true naman, even for other languages as we move places here and there.

Ang ibang mga Bisaya naman ay nagpauna nang hindi big deal ang naturang 'racist remark' sapagkat it makes them even more proud of themselves. Sabi pa nga ng ilan, at least daw ang mga taga Bisaya, marunong magsalita ng tatlong languages, Bisaya, Tagalog at English kaysa sa mga Tagalog natives. O di ba?

Ang dapat pa nga sigurong pagtuunan doon ay kung pa'no pinagmukhang "jologs" ang mga Pinoy sa paningin ng mga taga-Spain at kung pa'no ginawang katatawanan ang hitsura ni Bronson sa pelikula.

Pero part na talaga yan ng pelikulang Pinoy, especially comedy films, kaya we all have nothing to worry about.

Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz break-up

See, anything can still happen as the year comes to an end.

The rumored break up of couple Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz has just come out lately when people get busy themselves for the Holidays and Sunshine Cruz herself has confirmed to Ricky Lo of Philippine Star that she, along with her three kids, left their home on Christmas Day.

Here's what the article says:


“All I want is a little respect.”

That’s all that Sunshine Cruz said when Funfare talked to her Thursday night, reacting to the Funfare “blind item” about a beautiful couple who broke up on Christmas Day.

“Yes,” Sunshine continued, “I did leave home in the afternoon of Christmas Day, with my three daughters. I was fetched at home by my mom and my brother.”

Sunshine didn’t comment, though, on Funfare’s report that she and husband Cesar Montano fought over a 16-year-old Brazilian model who sometimes drops by Bellisimo restaurant which is owned by the couple. Neither did Sunshine comment on the rumored exchange of “hurting” words between her and Cesar.

“I don’t want to say anything more for now,” said Sunshine who is staying with her mom for the meantime, as she always does everytime she and Cesar have a misunderstanding.

“All I want is a little respect,” she repeated.

It’s not the first time the couple, married eight years, has been reported to have separated.

ABS-CBN Primetime Bida vs GMA Telebabad this 2008

Philippines' giant networks, ABS-CBN Broadcasting and GMA Network, have solidified, strengthened and intensified (whatever you call it) its primetime/telebabad block this 2008 with new and exciting shows that will surely bring stiffer competition between the two.

ABS-CBN Channel 2 still has the much publicized Maging Sino Ka Man Book 2 plus new shows such as Kung Fu Kids, Palos and Lobo on its Primetime Bida.


GMA 7, on one hand, can't get rid of fantasy series and will make endless remakes of Captain Barbell and Darna. But this time, as one soap entitled Captain Barbell meets Darna. It also has Dyesebel, Joaquin Bordado and Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita for its Telebabad block.

John Lloyd Cruz wins Best Actor in the 25th Luna Awards.


The awarding ceremony for the 25th Luna Awards is yet to be held tonight, December 27, 2007, but the winners have already been announced as early as yesterday.

Star Cinema's Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo has won six out of its 8 nominations including the Best Actress award for Ms. Judy Ann Santos, Best Supporting Actress for Ms. Gina Pareno, Best Director and Best Picture.

Since the Luna Awards is the last award-giving body to hand out awards this year, it can now be said that KKK is the most awarded movie of 2006, a big challenge indeed for its sequel Sakal, Sakali, Sakali, which is currently shown in the 33rd Metro Manila Film Festival 2007.

John Lloyd Cruz, on one hand, gets his very first Best (Movie) Actor award from his role in All About Love beating Urian Best Actor Rustom Padilla, Star Awards Most Promising Actor Sid Lucero and veteran actors Robert Arevalo and Eddie Garcia.

Last year, he received four Best Supporting Actor awards for his acclaimed performance in 'Dubai'.

On television, John Lloyd has numerous Best Drama Actor awards.

MMFF 2007 Box-Office Gross (December 25, 2007)

On Christmas Day, the first day of the 33rd Metro Manila Film Festival, Enteng Kabisote 4 has topped the box-office, with 19.5 million pesos but only with a slight margin to that of Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo's 17 million.

Imus Production's Resiklo needs to double up their revenues on the coming days especially that the movie's production cost totalled to more or less 100 million pesos.

Bahay Kubo, which is getting good reviews despite not getting a grade from Cinema Evaluation Board, might climb up the rankings soon.

2. Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo - 17 million
3. Shake, Rattle, and Roll 9 - 12.7 million
4. Resiklo - 6.1 million

Taking a look back at last year's MMFF Box-office grosses exactly the same day, notice that opening gross of Enteng Kabisote 3 is higher than Enteng Kabisote 4. The box-office receipts during Day 1 of SSS and SSR9 have improved a lot as compared to their prequel's 1st day grosses.

Katas ng Saudi's eight hundred thousand gross is indeed very low. Tatlong Baraha, last year's bottom placer, raked in over a million pesos.
