The pre-awarding ceremony for the 20th Awit Awards was already held last July 19, 2007 at the Top of the City in Makati and the winners of 8 categories were already revealed.
The song "Hilot" composed by Scrambled Eggs has won as Best Regional Recording. "Hilot" was popularized by Scrambled Eggs member Jay-R Siaboc and became a national hit when he was admitted as one of the scholars in Pinoy Dream Academy.
Jay-R Siaboc, or Mr. Hilot as they say, ended as 1st Runner Up in the said reality program. For his Bisaya fans, Jay-R is considered already the ambassador of Besrock or Bisaya Rock.
Aside from Best Regional Recording which he already won, Jay-R is also a strong contender for another category, Best Performance by a New Male Recording Artist, again for the song "Hilot." He's pitied against Chris Kayzer (appeared in the movie Close to You and TV show Bituing Walang Ningning), Philippine Idol's Gian Magdangal, Star Magic's Aaron Agassi and Jimmy Marquez of Search for the Star in a Million Season 2.
