Bangs Garcia in Maxim, November 2008 issue

Bangs Garcia in the cover of Maxim Magazine for November, 2008 is a "delayed" move for the said mag as Bangs is no longer as popular as when she was launched as a leading lady for Palos early 2008.

She also has no existing show in ABS-CBN as of this moment, but she has an upcoming project entitled Humingi Ako Sa Langit which is set to premiere on January of 2009.

Anyways, let's give Bangs a try, as this is her first time to be a cover girl. Just like what Maxim describes Bangs, she is one of the fastest rising stars in Philippine television.

Also featured in the November 2008 issue of Maxim are model Mae Mclachlan and sexy star Nika Madrid.

It's Pokwang vs Patani. Who has the better P?

And besides, yung tinatanong nila sa akin ay yung show sa kabila, so, nakakagulat, di ba?”

Lahat naman tayo may karapatang umasenso at gumanda ang buhay pero nandun kasi ako for a show.”

John Prats in another gay role for 'I Love Betty La Fea'

After playing gay roles in the movies Ako Legal Wife and Manay Po series, John Prats is "gay" again this time on television via ABS-CBN's I Love Betty La Fea.

In I Love Betty La Fea, John Prats is not actually the "gay", but he will play as the boyfriend of Ecomoda's gay creative director portrayed by Thou Reyes.

For sure, John will bring more excitement to the said comedy-serye, which is topbilled by John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.

John becomes the 3rd surprise guests of I Love Betty La Fea after Ms. Pilar Pilapil and Ms. Gloria Romero.

I Love Betty La Fea will also be John Prat's 3rd regular show this season. The other two are ASAP '08 and Komiks Presents: Mars Ravelo's Tiny Tony.

Gagambino, a ratings flop for GMA 7?

The pilot episode of Gagambino last Monday, October 20, 2008, can be considered a "ratings flop" as it registered a Mega Manila ratings of 34.5%, one of GMA 7's lowest pilot ratings for a primetime TV series in the last three years.

Based on Mykiru's exclusive compilation, Gagambino, which stars Dennis Trillo, is just ranked 14th, only behind Super Twins and Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, two previous shows of Dennis Trillo.

It indeed proved to be a disappointment especially that Gagambino replaces the timeslot left by Dyesebel, which ended last Friday with an impressive 40+ finale ratings.

Much worse is that, La Lola, which premiered a week ago on a later timeslot, had a pilot ratings higher than that of Gagambino.

That is as far as GMA 7 is concerned. Comparing its pilot ratings to its rival programs in ABS-CBN for the past 3 years, GMA shows are still leading the race.

Binibing Pilipinas-World Danielle Castano also has problems with English

The new Binibining Pilipinas World 2008 Danielle Castano is more fluent in English than former titleholder Janina San Miguel.

However, when it comes to grammatical usage, Danielle Castano is just a little bit better than Janina.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Castaño was quoted saying, "I'm very proud that I was choosed [chosen] by Mrs. Araneta."

Back in March, Danielle also had a wrong word in her mouth.

During the interview portion, she used the word "overwarmed" instead of overwhelmed".

If you also analyze her response to Dennis Trillo's question during the Q&A, she also did not properly answer the question. She did not answer Trillo's second question.

What is the biggest problem you've ever faced and how did you solve it?

"The biggest problem I've ever faced is when my family separated, my parents separated. I felt really bad, and I, I was, I felt sorrow, deep sorrow, that at the end, I realized that if, that didn't happen, I wouldn't be a strong person, a content person of how I am, and...thank you!."

Despite of this, I think it is just fine since Philippines is one of only two Asian countries who can consistently speak straight English in an international pageant.

Miss World beauty pageant, where Danielle will be the Philippine representative, is also not particular when it comes to English usage. What matters most there is the beauty, charm and projection.

Sarah Geronimo beats Sharon Cuneta

Before A Very Special Love was shown back in July, Sharon Cuneta starrer Caregiver was the topgrosser for 2008 and Sharonians were hoping that their idol will get back the Box Office Queen title.

But after three weeks of exhibition, A Very Special Love, which stars Sarah Geronimo and 2007's Box Office King John Lloyd Cruz, hauled in a total of P171.6 million gross revenues and still counting, surpassing that of Caregiver's final total gross of P139.5 million.

Caregiver had a higher opening weekend sales than A Very Special Love, but the latter managed to pull in more revenues during the next three weeks.

It's very clear now that John Lloyd Cruz will still be the Box Office King this year and hopefully, Sarah Geronimo could be the next Box Office Queen, if no one will object.

Sarah's fans fear that the title will still be given to Ms. Sharon Cuneta especially that A Very Special Love is Sarah's first major movie.

However, another Star Cinema movie For the First Time which opened on August 27, 2008 still has the chance to steal the box-office throne from the said two movies.

As of September 14, 2008, For the First Time is the 3rd top grossing Filipino film for 2008 beating My Bestfriend's Girlfriend which slipped to #4.

Stay tuned for the next box-office updates.
