Temptation Island: The Goddesses of Beauty talk about their roles in the movie

"The Goddesses of Beauty" Lovi Poe, Solenn Heussaff, Heart Evangelista, Rufa Mae Quinto and Marian Rivera talk about their roles, their favorite scenes and lines in their upcoming movie "Temptation Island".

In the film, Lovi plays Serafina (the brat), Solenn is Pura (the social climber), Heart portrays Virginia (the virgin), Rufa Mae as Nympha (the maid) and Marian is Christina (the crook).

Written and directed by Chris Martinez, "Temptation Island" will hit theaters on July 6, 2011.

Jake Cuenca and Dennis Trillo reunited in 'My Neighbor's Wife'

Jake Cuenca and Dennis Trillo are the male leads in a new Regal-produced movie entitled 'My Neighbor's Wife'.

At the story conference for the movie held last Tuesday at the Imperial Palace Suites, Jake and Dennis said that they were so thrilled to be working together again.

The two starred together in GMA 7's 2006 telefantasya "Majika", which was Jake's last soap in GMA 7 before he moved to the Kapamilya Network.

Joining the two in the film are two of the hottest Kapuso leading ladies, Carla Abellana and Lovi Poe.

It's also nice to see Lovi and Jake in one movie. I super loved their Bench Summer 2011 photos, where the two really had great chemistry.

Maybe that's what inspired Regal to cast them in "My Neighbor's Wife".

"Dwarfina" pilot episode scores BIG ratings in Mega Manila

January 10, 2011 ratings in Mega Manila are out!

GMA 7 has won really big ratings last night as 6 of its shows are among the Top 10 highest-rating primetime programs, according to the figures released by AGB Nielsen via PEP Scoopbox.

And 5 of the 6 Kapuso shows are all in the top 5.

The network must be thankful most especially for its new show "Dwarfina" whose pilot episode last night scored a high 15.4% rating, beating all competitions.

"Dwarfina" is topbilled by Heart Evangelista and Dennis Trillo.

Iwa Moto not pregnant, plays villain to Heart Evangelista in "Dwarfina"

Iwa Moto is back on TV starting tomorrow, January 10, 2011, as "Dwarfina" begins airing on GMA Telebabad.



Iwa's comeback disproves rumors that she is pregnant and she's also switching networks just like fellow StarStruck alumna Jewel Mische
who's now with ABS-CBN.

If she IS not pregnant, WAS she pregnant? Iwa has denied the other night that she ever got pregnant. "It doesn't mean na hindi ako nakikita, I'm pregnant. And it doesn't mean na bumalik ako ngayon, nagpalaglag na 'ko," Iwa said in an interview by 24 Oras reporter Lhar Santiago.

On "Dwarfina", Iwa plays Lucille, one of the many villains in the life of Yna or Dwarfina played by Heart Evangelista.

"Dwarfina" is GMA 7's first new teleserye this 2010 and is expected to be a top-rating primetime show of the network.

I've noticed that 4 of them are all telefantasya while the other one is a musical dramedy.

That just means, GMA 7 will still capitalize more on fantasy TV series this 2011 and producing non-fantasy drama shows on primetime is really
not their priority.

But those 5 shows look exciting. I'm most excited with Dwarfina, Amaya
and Machete. How about you guys?

Until now, no leading man yet for Marian Rivera in the epic-serye "Amaya". Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo reportedly was offered to be Marian's leading man but I highly doubt if he's gonna switch networks.

Jennylyn Mercado goes extra daring in her MMFF 2010 movie "Rosario"

Portraying a role of a liberated Filipina from New York, Jennylyn
Mercado for sure will have lots of daring scenes in her upcoming movie
"Rosario", which is an official entry in the 2010 Metro Manila Film
Festival (MMFF).

But definitely, those daring scenes do not make up the whole of "Rosario".




Set in the 1920's, "Rosario" stars Jennylyn Mercado in her most
challenging role ever.

Based on the movie trailer alone, I can already say that Jennylyn has an award-worthy portrayal in "Rosario".

Sorry to Ms. Ai-Ai delas Alas (Ang Tanging Ina Mo: Last Na 'To) who is
begging MMFF committee to let her win the Best Actress award this year, but Jennylyn is going to be the strongest contender for the
award. (That is if politics won't play a major role in the selection.)

I have watched already the trailers of all 8 official entries and I was impressed with "Rosario". It's like a Hollywood movie.

This may not be on top of the box-office, but it might win many awards along with Star Cinema's RPG Metanoia.

But of course, I'm just basing it on the trailers and my opinion might change as soon as MMFF 2010 officially begins December 25 and got to watch, hopefully all 8 entries.

Cinemalaya Cinco 2009 winners

GB Sampedro is Best Director for "Astig"


The film "Astig" won the most number of awards, a total of 4, during the awarding ceremony for the Cinemalaya Cinco Independent Film Festival and Competition held last night, July 26, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

The said film, which is topbilled by Dennis Trillo and produced by TV host Boy Abunda, has won Best Supporting Actor for Arnold Reyes, Best Editing, Best Sound Recording and Best Director for GB Sampedro.

Dennis Trillo's Astig opens July 18

Catch the premier of "Astig (Mga Batang Kalye)" this July 18, 2009 at the CCP Main Theater.

Award-winning actor Dennis Trillo leads the cast of "Astig" which is produced by Boy Abunda and directed by Giuseppe Bede 'GB' Sampedro.

It is by far Dennis' first ever indie film.

"Astig" actually has four episodes.

Gagambino, a ratings flop for GMA 7?

The pilot episode of Gagambino last Monday, October 20, 2008, can be considered a "ratings flop" as it registered a Mega Manila ratings of 34.5%, one of GMA 7's lowest pilot ratings for a primetime TV series in the last three years.

Based on Mykiru's exclusive compilation, Gagambino, which stars Dennis Trillo, is just ranked 14th, only behind Super Twins and Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, two previous shows of Dennis Trillo.

It indeed proved to be a disappointment especially that Gagambino replaces the timeslot left by Dyesebel, which ended last Friday with an impressive 40+ finale ratings.

Much worse is that, La Lola, which premiered a week ago on a later timeslot, had a pilot ratings higher than that of Gagambino.

That is as far as GMA 7 is concerned. Comparing its pilot ratings to its rival programs in ABS-CBN for the past 3 years, GMA shows are still leading the race.

Dennis on Cristine: We had a relationship

Dennis Trillo finally speaks up.

Ruel Mendoza of Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) writes about Dennis Trillo airing his side over the issue that happened between Carlene Aguilar and Cristine Reyes.

After all the controversies, Dennis Trillo has finally confirmed that he and Cristine had a relationship in the past.

I think that's what interests me most, to hear a direct confirmation from Dennis of her romance with Cristine, to which he never admitted before.

Now, I understand why there was a rift between Cristine and Carlene.

However, Dennis stressed that he and Cristine are just friends now, and he also confirmed that it's Cristine who told him about the reconciliation that transpired yesterday.

Here's an excerpt of the press interview with Dennis Trillo:

"Ever since naman, ayokong masangkot sa ganitong klaseng mga controversies, intriga, ganoon. Pero yung silence ko na ‘yon, hindi nangangahulugang...hindi ibig sabihin nun wala akong ginagawa o wala akong pakialam sa mga nangyayari sa kanila. Of course, meron akong pakialam dun dahil involved ako dun. Kahit hindi ako involved sa mismong kaso, sangkot pa din ako dun, di ba? Pero hindi ibig sabihin nun wala akong ginagawa. Kinakausap ko sila pareho. Pinipilit ko silang ayusin pareho.

"Personal choice ko ‘yon kasi hindi ko na gustong ibalita pa sa TV kung ano'ng personal na nangyayari sa amin at saka ever since, gusto kong maging private yung personal life ko. Hindi naman ako yung showbiz na tao na gusto kong malaman ng lahat ang pinaggagagawa ko.

On relationship with Carlene: "Matagal nang magulong-magulo na talaga. Siyempre, maraming kumplikasyon na nangyari. Yung relasyon namin. Yung relasyon ng parents. Lahat-lahat na. Nagkapagtung-patong na. So, magulong-magulo."

"Yung nangyari kasi, isang pagkakamali ko, inaayos namin as parents ‘to dun sa anak ko. Inaayos namin yung relasyon, yung communication. Open lahat ng communication lines, siyempre lahat. Nasa kanya [Carlene] kasi yung custody ng bata. Ayokong magkagalit-galit kami. Siyempre kasi, gusto kong anytime makapunta ako dun para mabisita ko yung bata. Ayokong mag-wage ng war sa kanya.

"Yung sinasabi niyang inaayos namin, yung inaayos namin sa estadong ganoon. Siguro ang mali ko lang doon, kasi hindi ko lang nabigyan ng closure kung ano man yung napag-usapan namin. Napag-usapan namin na magiging mabuti kaming parents, pero yung relasyon, yung romantic side ng relationship, yun ang hindi ko nabigyan ng closure," paliwanag ni Dennis.

On Cristine Reyes:

"Nagkaroon kami ng relasyon.."

"Ngayon, medyo naging kumplikado na rin. Marami na rin, marami nang nasangkot. Marami nang involved.

On relationship status with Cristine:

"Magkaibigan..."

"Nag-uusap kami. Actually, sa kanya [Cristine] ko nalaman na kanina, nagkaroon sila [ni Carlene] ng appointment para magkaayos sila personally.

"Sa ngayon, hindi natin masasabi. Kung ano yung in store, kung ano ang nandiyan sa hinaharap. Gusto ko siguro muna maging single. May anak na ako, gusto ko muna maging mabuting ama sa kanya,"

Dennis also explained why he refused to talk about the issue before.

"Siyempre, masaya ako dahil yun ang matagal ko nang pinagdadasal, na mangyari ‘yon, dahil lalo na ngayon magpa-Pasko na. Wala naman gustong magkaroon ng galit sa isa't isa, di ba? So at least ngayon, maayos na yung sa kanilang dalawa. Masaya ako na nag-cooperate sila na maayos yung isyu sa kanila,"

"Actually, hindi na ako nakakapagbasa ng tabloid,"

"I'm sure maraming nadidismaya, nadi-disappoint dahil mas pinili kong maging tahimik. Pero ngayon nga, in-explain ko kung bakit ako naging tahimik. Ayokong masyadong palakihin ang isyu. Gusto kong ayusin personally.

"Kung hindi sila natuwa dun, opinyon nila ‘yon. Merong sumang-ayon na ‘Okay ‘yan, tumahimik ka.' Kasi although involved ako dun sa kanilang dalawa [Carlene and Cristine], pero ang pinag-uusapan dito yung kaso nila [slander case]. As much as possible, ayokong mag-comment tungkol dun. Pero kanya-kanya ‘yan. Kumbaga, kung sa tingin nila mali yung ginawa ko, mali. Pero yung iba, okay sa kanila. Kumbaga, everyone is entitled to their own opinion."

At least, Dennis has decided to clarify things up by airing his own side even if it's so co-incidental, happening a day after the reconciliation between Carlene and Cristine.

Dennis Trillo ( A Birthday Tribute)

Abelardo Dennis Florencio Ho aka Dennis Trillo, who is turning 26 on May 12, is my sole favorite actor on the side of the Kapuso stars.

Much has been said and written about Dennis Trillo on different sites and blogs, but this time around, I'd make sure this is absolutely a different one.

I never ceased admiring Dennis Trillo, who first caught my attention since his Star Circle days on ABS-CBN. He was launched as member of Star Circle Batch 10 along with his contemporaries then such as Bea Alonzo, Alfred Vargas, Robby Mananquil and Nadine Samonte.

A few could remember that as a neophyte Star Circle member then, he was already cast as Jojo, considered to be an important role already having dramatic scenes with the lead stars. He even overshadowed Claudine Barretto's leading man Carlos Agassi. The only problem then was that he was not given a leading role very well suited for his exceptional acting ability. Or probably, one regular show wasn't enough for him not to end his contract with the network.

He then transferred to GMA having appeared on shows like Kahit Kailan, Super Twins, Mulawin, Darna, Majika, Now and Forever, SOP and Super Twins. With these shows, he might have proved a lot, but it was with the movie Aishite Imasu 1941 where he achieved his matinee idol and leading man status.

Dennis played as a crossdresser in the movie, and there he snatched 11 acting awards plus five other special citations. I will never forget his scene where Raymart Santiago kissed him goodbye. The moment Raymart's lips kissed his cheek, his tears right at that very moment fell from his closed eyes. Too effective, which only a few actors could do. Piolo Pascual could also do that special skill, as what he did in the movie Milan and even John Lloyd Cruz on TV series Maging Sino Ka Man.

Dennis Trillo then appeared on quality films such as Blue Moon, Pamahiin and Txt. His other movies include Mano Po 3 and Mulawin: the Movie. For now, he has ventured into singing, where I believe he will truly stay.

I just wish that Dennis Trillo could still be given more quality projects to showcase his acting prowess. I hope his next project would not anymore be a "telefantasya."

Since his childhood, Dennis is already a favorite model for print and television ads. Well-loved by the camera, he has grown up to be, not just an eligible bachelor nor a matinee idol, but an endearing person worth loving for.

To Dennis, more power and wishing you all the happiness, the success that you truly deserve. Advance Happy Birthday!!!
