Alesandra Alores, who is of Italian and Ukrainian descent, represented Germany and won over 40 other models in the 15th Top Model of the World competition held Friday, January 18, 2008 in Hurghada, Egypt.
Aside from her cash prizes, Alesandra won modelling and travel contracts in Europe, Asia and North Africa.
Representatives from Belarus, Alena Aladka and Egypt, Lobna Amin were the 1st and 2nd Runners up respectively.
Last year's winner was Natalia Guimaraes of Brazil but she resigned in April, 2007 after she won as Miss Brazil 2007 and participated in Miss Universe 2007 where she placed 1st Runner Up.
Guimaraes' runner up Michelle de Leon of the Philippines took over the title of Top Model of the World 2007.
De Leon attended the 2008 pageant and handed over the crown to the new Top Model of the World Alesandra Alores.
