Host candidate Miss Japan Hisako Shirata has been awarded Miss Photogenic during the press preview Wednesday, October 3, in the ongoing Miss International 2007 pageant in Tokyo, Japan.ABOUT MISS JAPAN, HISAKO SHIRATA
Hisako Shirata is a Japanese actress-model and made headlines late last year when her nude photos from one of her movies resurfaced after she won the local pageant of Miss International in Japan.
Mainichi Daily News, a Japanese newspaper, has claimed that Hisako starred in an R-rated movie three years ago. Hisako has appeared in 7 movies and the particular R-rated movie being referred to was 'Kanzen Naru Kaiiku Himitsu no Chikashitsu’ with an English title of The Perfect Pet: Secret Basement.
Because of the said photo scandal, Hisako was tagged as the first R-rated star to become Miss Japan International.
One of the judges during the Miss Japan International pageant was quoted as saying, "I never heard the topic raised during judges' discussion about the contest. I guess she wouldn't have won if we'd known about it."
Hisako Shirata could have not won as Miss Japan as the judge said, but here she is now, winning as Miss Photogenic award in the international pageant and probably will secure a place in the finals this October 15. We'll see.
