Pilipinas-Universe 2010 crown, but with one condition.
The Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) called Venus this
morning to inform her of their latest decision. The BPCI also released
an official statement to the media and here it goes:
"We have reassessed the situation pertaining to Miss Maria Venus Raj
and have decided for humanitarian reasons, that if she is able to
obtain a valid Philippine passport, we will reinstate her as the
reigning Binibining Pilipinas-Universe."
This is one great news for Raj and her supporters, but will Raj easily
get a valid passport?
To apply for a passport, you need to present an authenticated birth
certificate coming from the National Statistics Office (NS0). But
before that, Venus I think should have to request first for a
correction of her birth certificate.
Actually, the birth certificate that Venus has is deemed valid and
authentic because it's issued by the Civil Registry, but if she really
wants herself to be free from any possible problem, it would be better
for her to make the necessary changes.
