Michael Phelps of the USA, who now has 11 Olympic gold medals (5 of which are from Beijing 2008 Olympics), makes a world record for having the most number of gold medals won in the history of Olympics.
China is still leading in the 2008 Summer Olympics being held in Beijing China.
As of August 13, 2008 (11:45 AM), the host country now has 13 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
But, there's a possibility that the 2004's champion USA which comes second as of latest tally could steal the top spot on the coming days.
When it comes to total medals won, USA is on top of the list.
USA has a total of 25 medals, 9 of which are gold.
Russia, last Olympics' third placer, is currently on 8th place and has to catch up by earning more gold medals.
