Al Qaeda appoints Ayman al-Zawahri as new leader

Al Qaeda's new leader is Ayman al-Zawahri, the Associated Press (AP) has reported.

According to the AP report, Ayman al-Zawahri, who stood as deputy to Osama Bin Laden, has been named by Al Qaeda as its new leader more than a month since Bin Laden's death in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The appointment was made known reportedly by Al Qaeda thru a statement posted on militant websites and it said: "The general command of Al Qaeda, after completing consultations, decided that the sheik doctor Abu Mohammed Ayman al-Zawahiri take the responsibility and be in charge of the group."

Egyption-born Ayman al-Zawahri turns 60 years old this Sunday, June 19, same birthday with French inventor Blaise Pascal, Philippine hero Jose Rizal and NBA 2011 MVP Dirk Nowitzki. Goshh, Al-Zawahri must be great and genius.

BBC UK reported that Ayman Al-Zawahri is intelligent but not as charismatic as Osama Bin Laden.

Alaska Earthquake 2011: 5.2 earthquake rocks Alaska

A moderate earthquake jolted Anchorage, the largest city in the largest US State of Alaska on Thursday, June 16, 2011.

It was a moderate Alaska earthquake which was widely felt not only in Anchorage but also in other areas in Alaska most especially in Kenai, Sterling, and Soldotna.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center measured the Earthquake at 5.2 magnitude, happening 11:06 AM at the epicenter Kenai Peninsula.

There was no tsunami threat and no damages or injuries were reported, but the 10-second earthquake brought fears to the people there especially those who experienced the Great Alaskan earthquake in 1964.

The 1964 Alaska Earthquake had a 9.2 magnitude, which was not the deadliest but it was the the 2nd largest eartquake in history, next to the Chilean earthquake in 1960 with 9.5 magnitude.

Joplin, Missouri could be hit by more tornadoes

Joplin, Missouri was recently hit by a deadly tornado last Sunday, which is being considered as the deadliest single U.S. tornado ever recorded.

Over a hundred Joplin, Missouri people were killed (124 as of latest update) and this is sad, more tornadoes possible for Joplin, Missouri according to a CNN report.

CNN is also reporting about Will Norton, a high school graduate who has been missing since tornado struck Joplin, Missouri last Sunday.

In Joplin, Missouri (MO.), USA, a tornado has ravaged the city on Sunday evening, May 22, 2011, but the cross at Joplin's St. Mary's Catholic Church was still standing strong, steady and undamaged.

It just shows that God is great indeed, a message that God will provide strength, He will always be there standing for His people no matter what happened.

In an AFP report Monday, at least 24 people were killed in the Joplin, Missouri Tornado, which directly struck a hospital, the St. John Regional Medical Center, with its roof being ripped off and the patients had to be evacuated.

It's not confirmed though in the report if the 24 killed were patients from the hospital, but it says that schools and business establisments were also severely damaged.

US President Barack Obama has released a statement expressing his sympathy to the victims' families:

Harold Camping Epic Fail: May 21 Rapture predictions went wrong

Harold Camping FAIL!!!

Camping's prediction that May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day, turned out so wrong.

Harold Camping failed already when he predicted End of the World in 1994, and for his 2nd try, which could have been his redeeming moment, Camping failed again in predicting the End of the World.

Camping predicted May 21 as the Rapture, that a select people will be taken to heaven while the others will be left to suffer until October 21, 2011. He also predicted that a strong earthquake will hit New Zealand at 6PM on May 21.

It's already May 22 in all parts of the world, and yet, nothing happened to all of us.

He was right though that a strong earthquake will rock New Zealand again after the destructive February 2011 quake. The country's Kermadec Island was struck by a magnitude 5.8 earthquake, but it happened May 22, 9AM (New Zealand time) and not 6PM, May 21.

If adjusted to the time zone of where Camping is currently based (California), the New Zealand earthquake occurred 2 PM on May 21.

International Business Times (IBTimes) has reported that Harold Camping is already missing now that his May 21, 2011 Rapture / Judgement Day predictions failed.

What will happen now to those who believed in Camping's predictions, those who quit from their jobs, those who sold their possessions and those who spent all their money believing May 21 was really the End of the World?

Judgment Day Hoax: World ending today May 21st 2011 - IMPOSSIBLE, says David C. Pack

Is it really Judgment Day today, May 21st, 2011?

Judgment Day is happening today, May 21st, 2011, according to a Youtube video by radio broadcaster Harold Camping and as what billboards in some parts of the world are claiming: "The Bible Guarantees May 21, 2011 as Judgment Day."

But another Youtube video says it's very impossible that Judgment Day or the world is ending today May 21, 2011.

David C. Pack, Pastor General of The Restored Church of God, speaks in the Youtube video, calling Camping a "false prophet".

Quoting a passage from Bible (Matthew 24:4), Pack says that no man knows when the world is ending and we should not be deceived by false prophets like Camping.

He also took notice of Camping's false prediction of the End of the World in 1994, and according to him, a prophet of God does not make false predictions.

May 21, 2011 Doomsday, End of the World? Harold Camping predicts May 21st as Rapture or Judgment Day

May 21, 2011 is Doomsday, Rapture or Judgment Day, according to Harold Camping.

Harold Camping is an 89-year-old Christian radio broadcaster and President of the radio station "Family Radio".

On this video, Camping predicts May 21, Saturday, or the 21st of May, 2011, as the Rapture or Judgement Day which is scheduled at 6PM, and the End of the World is 6 months later, October 21st, 2011.


So do we have to panic? We have only two more days left to prepare for May 21st, which according to Harold Camping is Judgment Day.

As heard on the video, Camping is blaming homosexuality and lesbianism for the end of the world.

I think Camping is already making a judgment too early even before his predicted "Judgment Day" this May 21st comes.

Whether that prediction will happen or not and though I believe that no person knows when the world is ending, it's still a call for all of us to PRAY and ask for God's forgiveness. It's a reminder for us to do good to others and cherish the moment that we have, as if it's already our last day here on earth.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn: Maid accuses International Monetary Fund (IMF) Chief of sexual assault

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, International Monetary Fund Chief, allegedly attempted to rape a maid at Sofitel New York.

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn is being accused of sexually assualting a Ghanaian hotel maid who works at the Sofitel Hotel in New York.

Strauss-Kahn is now jailed at Rikers Island Prison in New York after the maid has filed sexual assualt charges, including attempted rape, against him.

The IMF chief was arrested at the John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport and was denied to post a $1-million bail.

According to the Daily Mail in the UK, the maid was crying uncontrollably and claimed she had been trapped inside the Sofitel hotel bedroom while Dominique Strauss-Kahn twice tried to force himself on her.

This news of an alleged sexual assualt will definitely affect Dominique Strauss-Khan's political career, especially now that he is running in the 2012 Presidential Elections in France.

Benoi Road Shipyard explosion in Singapore kills 2

In Singapore, an explosion happened at the 3 Benoi Road shipyard today, May 12, 2011, and according to reports, at least 2 people were killed from the explosion. Channel News Asia reported that the Benoi Road shipyard explosion happened at 1:20 PM and those who died in the explosion were not Singaporeans, but a 43-year-old Malaysian and a 20-year-old Bangladeshi. George Yeo Press Conference

Singapore's outgoing Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo called a press conference today, May 10, 2011 3 days after losing in Singapore's 2011 General Elections.

At George Yeo's press conference, he officially announced his retirement from politics after serving for 23 long years.

On his Facebook Page, he also posted this photo along with the caption: "My last media conference at MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)".

Thank you for waiting a couple of days for me to rest before meeting you.

I would like to make some remarks before taking questions.

Aljunied voters have decided and I respect their decision. Having committed 23 years of service to the residents, it is only natural for me to feel disappointed but this is politics.

It has been my privilege to have served them all these years and they have enriched my life. They have also enabled me to serve in various capacities as a Cabinet Minister in MITA, Health, MTI and MFA for which I am grateful.

Why did we lose Aljunied?

Mr Low Thia Kiang himself said that they won Aljunied not because the Aljunied team did not do a good job, but because the voters wanted WP to be their voice in Parliament.

Mr Low's analysis is fair and I agree with him. This desire for a strong WP voice in Parliament was a political tide which came in through Aljunied which we were unable to withstand despite our very best efforts. Right from the start, the Workers Party made Aljunied a national battleground.

The fight became one between a Workers Party voice in Parliament and an Aljunied team with two ministers, a potential Speaker of Parliament, a potential minister and a most effective Town Council chairman.

Though I wish the outcome had been different, Aljunied voters have made their choice.

Many of my supporters asked me to stay on to win back Aljunied in five years time. I wanted to level with them and told them last night that it is better for a younger person to take on this important task. I'm already 57 years old and would be 62 by then. Naturally I would help to ensure a smooth handover.

As we ended our campaign on 5 May, I talked about the importance of transforming the PAP. This is a belief I've held for some time. It was not something I felt I could say when the campaign started. But, as the campaign went on, as we heard the growing cry from the heart, I decided to make it plain. Like it or not, we are entering a new phase in Singapore's political development. How we respond to it will decide Singapore's destiny in the 21st century.

I would help in whatever way I can to bring about this transformation of the PAP. I wish I had a mandate from the people of Aljunied to be a strong advocate of such transformation. But I don't.

As for remaining in public life, I will contribute in whatever modest way possible.

Many young people have stepped forward to help me in this campaign. Even more have cheered me on. It is not good that so many of them feel alienated from the Singapore they love. I look forward to continue working with them so that the Singapore we struggle for is the Singapore they feel is their own. As to the actual role I can play, I'll be happy to respond to them. In the last few years, I have learnt much from my young friends. Often they led me rather than I led them.

A younger generation has been politicized in this GE. Since the GE results came out, there has been a flood of support for me expressed personally, through friends and relatives, on email and, in an astonishing way, on Internet and FB. The words expressed are heartfelt. Many wrote me long passages, some in tears. I'm grateful for the kind and comforting words and the many good wishes. It will be an honour for me to be an advocate of their cause.

As for what I'll do professionally after stepping down as Minister when the new Cabinet is sworn in, I'm not rushing to make a decision. My wife and I thought we should take our time to think this over. We also need a break to spend more time with the family.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank the people of Singapore for the honour of serving them in the last 23 years.

Osama Bin Laden killed in Abbottabad: Al Qaeda confirms in a statement | Jamaat-e-Islami rally in Kuchlak, Pakistan

Al Qaeda has confirmed in a statement online that their leader Osama Bin Laden was really killed by the US armed forces.

That's according to Search for International Terrorist Entities (SITE) Intelligence Group, an organization which monitors the online activities of terrorists.

Al Qaeda reportedly posted a statement written in Arabic at a jihadist forum confirming Osama Bin Laden is dead.

SITE Intel Group translated it in English and according to Al Qaeda in the statement, the Americans killed Osama Bin Laden, but only by disgrace and betrayal.

As what was reported in the news early this week, Osama Bin Laden had a tape recorded a week before he was killed. Al Qaeda confirmed it in the statement and promised to release it very soon.

Al-Qaeda statement calls the day " a historic day of the days of the great Islamic umma (nation) and in a noble stand of one of its great men and heroes across its blessed age and on the path taken by the will of all the mighty predecessors and those who will follow them, the Sheikh, the Mujahid & the Commander, the pious migrant fighter, Abu Abdullah Osama bin Muhammad bin Laden, may God have mercy on him was killed in a place where truth shines and where sincerity for good deeds and the call for truthfulness exist. Bin Laden was killed so he can follow the mighty caravan of the umma (the nation) with the great leaders, the loyal soldiers, and the honest knights who refused to abandon their faith for the mundane lives and to hand over the command to those who will be humiliate them and be humiliated and that's why they confronted the weaponry with weaponry, force with force and accepted to challenge the arrogant masses that came out to fight with their killing machines, equipments, aircrafts and forces boastfully so they can be seen as men, and still this didn’t weaken their resolve and didn’t drain their strength, but instead he stood up for them face to face, a mighty mountain, a proud mountain and he was still in the midst of the battle that many got used to and his eyes were used to its sceneries but after that, he was yet to be excused and delivered his message and then he was shot bullets of betrayal and blasphemy delivering his soul to its maker while repeating: 'Who sacrifice the blessed soul for his Lord to fight off the falsehood CANNOT ever be blamed'."

"Congratulations to the Islamic Nation on the martyrdom of their devoted son Osama,

Even when the Americans managed to kill Osama, they managed to do ONLY that by disgrace and betrayal. Men and heroes only should be confronted in the battlefields but at the end, that’s God’s fate. Still we ask, will the Americans be able thru their media outlets, their agents, their instruments, soldiers, intelligence services and their might be able to kill what Sheikh Osama lived for and was killed for? How far! How impossible! Sheikh Osama didn’t build an organization that will vanish with his death or fades away with his departure.

In this context, we in al Qaeda Jihad organization promise God Almighty and we ask Him for help, support and steadfastness to continue on the path of jihad that our leaders, led by Sheikh Osama chose, and that we will not be reluctant, and will not deviate from that honorable path until God be the final judge between us and our enemy.

We also stress that the blood of the mujahid sheikh Osama bin Laden, may God have mercy on him is VERY dear to us and more precious to us and to every Muslim from being shed in vain and this blood (OBL’s blood) will be a curse that will chase the Americans and their agents, a curse that will pursue them inside and outside their country, and soon – with God's help – we pray that their happiness turns into sorrow and may their bloods mix with their tears and let Sheikh Osama’s resonate again that “America will neither enjoy nor live in security until our people in Palestine live it and enjoy it. The soldiers of Islam in groups and as individuals will continue to plan and plot without any fatigue, boredom, despair, surrender or indifference until you receive from them a cunning misfortune that will gray the hair of the child even before he gets old.

We call upon our Muslim people in Pakistan where our dear Sheikh Osama was killed on their soil to rise up and revolt so they can cleanse this disgrace that was brought upon them by a handful of traitors and thieves who have sold everything to the enemies of the Muslim nation, and disregarded the feelings of this great Muajhid (Pakistani) people and let them rise up and start a massive public uprising to cleanse their country (Pakistan) from the filth of the Americans who have wreaked havoc in the land”.

Al-Qaeda chimes in to OBL's body controversy and tells its supporters that OBL had one more message for them.

"The sheikh (OBL) didn’t leave this world before taking part in sharing the joy with his Muslim Umma (nation) regarding its revolutions when the nation has risen in the face of injustice and the tyrants and may God have mercy on him, the sheikh recorded an audio message one week before his killing that we will release soon, God willing and his audio message included a congratulation greeting, advices and a guidance. He ended his audio message with the following verses:

Saying the righteousness to the tyrants is the splendor & the gospel.

This is the path leading to the mundane life, this is the path leading to the hereafter.

You can die a slave if you wish or die a free man, this is your choice.

Moreover, we warn the Americans of any injustice to be made to the corpse of Sheikh Osama, God's mercy be upon him or that he will be mistreated in any despicable manner and this warning includes the mistreatment of any member of the sheikh's honorable family whether they are dead or alive and that the bodies must be handed over to the families because any inappropriate treatment will open the doors of double evil and you will only be blaming yourselves for your own deeds. We call upon all Muslims to do their duty in enforcing this right.”

Meanwhile, two rallies have occurred at the same day today, May 6, in Pakistan and in the Philippines, condemning the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

The Al Qaeda statement above urged Muslim people in Pakistan where Osama Bin Laden was killed to rise up and revolt, and it indeed happened today as a Pakistani religious group called Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) rallied in Kuchlak, Pakistan as they symphatize with Osama Bin Laden and call for a holy war against the US, according to an AFP report.

In Manila Philippines, a group of Muslims rallied in front of the US Embassy also condemning the killing of Bin Laden and also his burial at sea, which the group considers as a violation of the Islamic tradition, as reported on The Philippine Star.

Osama Bin Laden animation video: US Navy SEALs' raid of the Al Qaeda leader's compound in Abbottabad

Osama Bin Laden's Abbottabad compound in Pakistan was raided by the US Navy SEALs and CIA paramilitary operatives last May 2 (May 1 in the US), but no Osama Bin Laden death photos and even his burial at sea video have been released.

They are still sealed and will remain as such as US President Barack Obama has already announced Wednesday (May 4) his decision not to release any Osama Bin Laden death photos so maybe we have to be satisfied with this animation video of how Osama Bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The New York Post posted the video last Tuesday to give us a view of how the U.S. Navy SEALS and the CIA paramilitary operatives raided the Abbottabad compound in Pakistan and killed al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden based on the information provided to them by The Pentagon.

As you can see there at the start of the video, Pres. Obama and some others were watching in White House a live coverage of the raid. They saw in their very eyes how Obama Osama was killed by the US Navy SEALs.

Osama Bin Laden video and photos of death in Abbottabad, do they really exist?

"To see is to believe!" That's what people are saying to believe that al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden is dead.

People from all over the world want Osama Bin Laden dead body photos, his burial video and a Bin Laden tape or the shooting video in Abbottabad compound in Pakistan.

But U.S. President Barack Obama is strongly against the release of Osama Bin Laden death photos.

CIA director Leon Edward already said in an interview, as reported on CNN, that it's important to release Osama Bin Laden dead body photos to erase doubts on the al Qaeda leader's death. He also said that it's most likely that one photo will be released but it's all up to the White House to make the final decision.

And the decision came. U.S. President Barack Obama has decided not to release the photos, and videos (including the Bin Laden's sea burial video).

In an interview with Steve Kroft for "60 Minutes", a news magazine program on CBS Network, Obama said that the release of Osama Bin Laden dead body photos, which he described as "very graphic", will pose threats to the national security of the U.S. and they might be used as a propaganda tool against the American government.

Obama assures everyone that it was really Osama who was killed because they did DNA sampling and testing to make sure that it was him.

KROFT: What was your reaction when you saw them?

OBAMA: It was him.

KROFT: Why haven't you released them?

OBAMA: You know, we discussed this internally. Keep in mind that we are absolutely certain this was him. We've done DNA sampling and testing. And so there is no doubt that we killed Osama bin Laden. It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence. As a propaganda tool. You know, that's not who we are. You know, we don't trot out this stuff as trophies. You know, the fact of the matter is this was somebody who was deserving of the justice that he received. And I think-- Americans and people around the world are glad that he's gone. But we don't need to spike the football. And I think that given the graphic nature of these photos, it would create some national security risk. And I've discussed this with Bob Gates and Hillary Clinton and my intelligence teams and they all agree.

KROFT: There are people in Pakistan, for example, who say, "Look, this is all a lie. Obama, this is another American trick. Osama's not dead."

OBAMA: You know, the truth is that and we -- we're monitoring worldwide reaction. There's no doubt that Bin Laden is dead. Certainly there's no doubt among al Qaeda members that he is dead. And so we don't think that a photograph in and of itself is going to make any difference. There are going be some folks who deny it. The fact of the matter is, you will not see bin Laden walking on this Earth again.

'Osama Bin Laden Execution Video in Abbottabad' tape scam on Facebook

'Osama Bin Laden Execution Video', 'Bin Laden is not dead: al Qaeda', 'Osama killed in Abbottabad Tape' are just one of the many malware scams and spams which have become widespread online, most especially on social networking sites, such as on Facebook and Twitter, just hours after al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden was confirmed dead in Abbottabad, Pakistan by U.S. President Barack Obama.

As mentioned, one example is a death video scam which says Osama Bin Laden is dead and you can watch his execution video or how Bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

It's entitled "Osama Bin Laden Execution Video!" with the description: "This will leave you speechless", but instead of a video, you'll be redirected to a Facebook Page and it will ask you to like the page, answer a survey, but no single execution video of his death as promised can be found there.

And this one is more dangerous. A video is circulating around Facebook, supposedly a BBC video showing the killing of Osama Bin Laden and claims it was taped by the US armed forces. You'll be redirected to a site, which will slow down your internet connection. Believe me. It's a virus!!!

Another internet scam is an invitation to visit a site which shows exclusive pictures of how Osama Bin Laden was killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan. It says, "This is so crazy they killed Osama Bin Laden, check out the exclusive pictures!) Osama Bin Laden Killed!" and again, you'll see nothing in there.

On Twitter, beware also if you come across with this message: "CLICK HERE TO SEE IMAGES OF OSAMA BIN LADEN'S DEATH!"

I think this one is safe and funny, allegedly it's the Osama Bin Laden tape containing his final video message before his death, but still, it's something we should not believe:


So please be careful on what you click and share on your Facebook walls and Twitter pages, and even on what you receive thru emails.

Osama Bin Laden is Dead, May 2, 2011; Death photos leaked!

Osama Bin Laden is dead Monday, May 2, 2011, (May 1 US time) as confirmed by US President himself Barack Obama in a live televised statement, which was broadcast around the world.

Bin Laden, the #1 most wanted terrorist in the world has been killed in a firefight with US forces Monday in Abbottabad, Pakistan and his body was reportedly already buried at the sea in keeping with Muslim death customs.

CNN has reported that a DNA matching on samples from his body is currently underway to make sure that it was really Osama Bin Laden who died in the US operation.

After the news broke out that Osama Bin Laden is dead, photos showing allegedly of his dead body have been leaked online.

The photo above has been used in some international news reports but it turned out to be fake.

There are real photos of Osama Bin Laden's dead body, but they haven't been released yet, and it's unsure though if they're going to show it public since they're really graphic and gruesome. Do you think they should release the pictures?

Osama Bin Laden's death is almost 10 years since the September 11, 2001 (9/11) terrorist attacks of the World Trade Center, in which he was the mastermind, and killed at least 3,000 people.

Justin Bieber shouted "Hello Manila!" in Malaysia concert

Justin Bieber reportedly shouted "Hello Manila!" during his Live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia concert last April 21.

And of course, the Malaysians were reportedly so much upset by Bieber's greeting to them.

Malaysia and Manila are both located in Asia, which both start with "M" and both end with "a", but definitely so much different to be confused about and have them interchanged.

Did Justin Bieber really shout "Hello Manila!" to his Malaysian fans during his concert at the Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia?

If yes, where's the video which could very well serve as proof that Justin Bieber indeed shouted "Hello Manila"?

This Justin Bieber's supposed epic fail is already a headline on Pilipino Star Ngayon's edition today, but it wasn't indicated from where that piece of news came from. Obviously, it came from Twitter, where those terms made it as one of the trending topics in the Philippines.

Tracing back the terms "Justin Bieber Hello Manila" on Twitter, I can't find tweets coming from Malaysian people.

Of course, they would tweet their disappointment but unfortunately, there's none, except for this one:

which according to Mindanaoan.com, it's "Justin Bieber says "Hello Manila" Stupid, this is Malaysia, not Philippines." when translated into English.

But how come no one else was able to tweet that?

There are a bunch of Justin Bieber videos on Youtube during his concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but sadly none of them could tell us that he indeed said that.

News reports from Malaysia about the Bieber concert also didn't mention about him saying "Hello Manila".

Mykiru was able to confirm if it's indeed true from a Malaysian Facebook user named Vinccy Hsien Qi who was able to watch Bieber's concert live. And here's what she said to me: "Lol! Hii =) nope he say hello malaysia! Hu told u he said manila??"

After Malaysia, Justin Bieber staged a concert in Indonesia (just last night), then will do concert in 5 Australian cities this April 26th, 28th, 29th and from May 2-8th and also here in Manila on May 10 at the SM Mall Of Asia Concert Grounds.

Czech President Václav Klaus caught on video stealing a pen in Chile

Czech President Václav Klaus was caught on video allegedly stealing a precious pen during a recent state visit in Chile.

Pres. Klaus was seated beside Chilean President Sebastian Pinera when he was filmed intentionally putting the pen inside his pocket.

Some are saying that he stole the pen but Chilean President's spokesperson Radim Ochvata said that it was really a gift for Vaclav Klaus and he has every right to take it home.

The said 'stealing' incident has gained worldwide attention, that two videos of it uploaded on Youtube have reached more than 2 million views each. The video above uploaded by Youtube user Amperik has 3.1 million views so far.

I believe though that Czech President Vaclav Klause did not steal the pen 'coz it was a souvenir or token given to him. It's just that he was too excited to bring home the pen, which was an "odd" behaviour for a President.
