Mayor Sara Duterte punches sheriff Abe Andres [video]

Mayor Sara Duterte of Davao City is now being dubbed as "The Puncher".

On Friday morning, July 1, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was caught on video punching demolition sheriff Abe Andres of the Davao Regional Trial Court Branch 15.

She really hit the sheriff so hard, just like how Manny Pacquiao punches his boxing opponents.

Mayor Duterte got so mad at the sheriff after the latter pushed through with the demolition at Brgy. Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Sr., Sitio Soliman, Agdao District, Davao City, despite the mayor's request to defer the demolition for 2 hours because she's still giving away relief goods to the flash flood victims in the area.

Watch a video of how Mayor Duterte punched the sheriff:

Here's another video in another angle:

As seen on the video, Mayor Duterte asked first the sheriff to come near her before she punched him bigtime. You can also hear on the video the cheers from the people while Mayor Duterte was punching Sheriff Andres.

Just because of this punching incident, Mayor Duterte managed to trend worldwide on Twitter, peaking at #5, around 8PM tonight, July 1.

The incident also reached overseas, making headlines in various news websites around the world.

    ***

Sara Duterte is the first female to be elected Mayor in Davao City.

During the 2010 Elections, she won the mayoralty race with 372,576 votes versus former House Speaker Prospero Nograles which had 154,254 votes.

Sara actually succeeded her own father Rodrigo Duterte, a 6-termer Mayor, who now holds the Vice-Mayor position.

The father and daughter actually just switched positions. Sara was Rodrigo's Vice-Mayor during his last term as the city Mayor.

Jennylyn Mercado makes appearance in Miguel "Migz" Villafuerte's TV ad in CamSur

Miguel Luis "Migz" Villafuerte, who made showbiz headlines back in March as the rumored suitor of PopStar Princess Sarah Geronimo, appears in a TV commercial which has been airing already in his province Camarines Sur (CamSur) since last week.

The TVC uses a "jingle" sung to the tune of Justin Bieber hit "Baby" and also features Kapuso actress-singer Jennylyn Mercado in one short scene, probably shot during Jen's concert there last May 26 for CamSur's Kaogma Festival 2011.

Watch the said TV ad featuring Miguel "Migz" Villafuerte (Jennylyn is at 0:34 part of the video):

Analyzing the song lyrics or the message being imparted on the video, it's like an early election campaign for Migz Villafuerte who reportedly will be running for Governor in CamSur in the 2013 Elections, hoping to succeed his dad L-Ray Villafuerte who's now on his 3rd and last term as CamSur Governor.

If ever elected, Migz Villafuerte, who's 24 years old by 2013, will possibly be the youngest governor ever elected in CamSur beating his own dad's record and even in the whole Philippines (record to beat: 27 years old).

    Goodluck to you Migz!

Just last May, Migz was Cosmo.ph's Online Hunk and he gamely posed shirtless there. Check out some of his Cosmo shots taken in CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC):

This September, expect him to be one of Cosmo's 69 Bachelors for 2011.

Anthony Weiner lewd photos

Conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart has posted in one of his websites (BigGovernment.com) more Anthony Weiner lewd photos.

Three successive articles were posted in the said website on Monday morning, June 6, 2011, all containing photos which were believed to have been sent by New York City Rep. Anthony Weiner to an online playmate from Seattle.

The first post was titled "‘It’s Me’: Rep. Weiner Sends Playful Photo to New Friend" has a photo of Rep. Weiner holding a sheet of paper with the word "me" written on it and an arrow pointing to his face placed right above the word "me".

Then another photo was posted 2 hours later in his article entitled "‘Me and the pussys’: Weiner Sends Intimate Home Pic; Apparently Relishes Double Entendres, Too". Weiner is pictured here still with clothes on and with two pet cats on the background.

Three hours after, more Rep. Anthony Weiner lewd photos were uploaded on his post titled "Déjà Vu: Another Congressman Bares Naked Torso (and More) for Online Pal" and this time, Weiner is already shirtless plus an extra lewd photo of his bulging gray underwear.

According to Breitbart, the shirtless photo (as seen below) was sent by Weiner last May 20, 2011 via a Yahoo! email address to a young woman he met online. (ABC News has revealed the identity of the woman and she's reportedly named Meagan Broussard.)

Anthony Weiner lewd pictures, shirtless photo

The other shirtless pictures were grabbed from Weiner's Yahoo! profile.

Rep. Anthony Weiner's bulge photo, according to the website, was sent to the same woman last May 18.

On Monday afternoon, Rep. Anthony Weiner held a press conference ath the Sheraton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, New York and there Weiner admitted that he's the man in the lewd photos posted on Andrew Breitbart's website and that he was the one who publicly tweeted one photo on Twitter by mistake last Friday, June 1.

Weiner, 46, is married to Huma Abedin, an assistant to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. They got married only last July, that means they will be celebrating their 1st wedding anniversary in just a month from now and definitely, this Weiner's photo scandal is bringing so much pain for his wife.

Bunny Calica is PNoy's new date, "gf prospect" after Len Lopez

Bunny Calica is the name of PNoy's new date after his failed romance with stockbroker Len Lopez, according to Inquirer.net's report Thursday morning, May 19.

    Bunny Calica photo from Inquirer

And judging Bunny Calica's photo, she's definitely prettier than Len Lopez, but for me, Shalani Soledad is still the prettiest of all.

Bunny is only 27 years old and maybe that makes her the "freshest" among those girls linked to Pres. Noynoy Aquino.

Is Bunny the wealthiest? That I'm not so sure of. I guess it's still Len Lopez.

    ***

PNoy's lovelife is again making headlines this week after he was spotted with Bunny Calica at the Hotdog reunion concert last Monday at Makati's Dusit Thani Hotel.

Though they were seated not so near to each other, many speculated that she's PNoy's new "girlfriend prospect".

According to Inquirer, Bunny is an early childhood education teacher and is teaching mostly Korean students.

Kris Aquino is not making "kwento" about her yet on TV, but Kris already told Inquirer that she and her sons already met Bunny in a dinner with her and PNoy last week.

Aside from Len, PNoy was also romantically linked to longtime friend Barbie Palagos, stylist Liz Uy and Singaporean reporter Sabrina Chua.

Goodluck PNoy! May you succeed this time.

I've been wishing him many times already to succeed every time he's reported dating someone. If he doesn't succeed with Bunny, maybe it's a sign that PNoy has to stop dating already, at least for now as he serves as Philippine President.

Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered child with household staff member: Los Angeles Times

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has admitted that he fathered a child with his former household staff member, Los Angeles Times has reported Tuesday.

According to the Los Angeles Times' report, Arnold Schwarzenegger's admission that he fathered a child with his family's household staff member has caused his separation with Maria Shriver, his wife for 25 long years.

The said household staff member, who worked for Schwarzenegger family for 20 years, has already retired in January and it was only after she left that Arnold Schwarzenegger had the courage to tell his wife about fathering a child with his former employee.

The identities of Arnold Schwarzenegger's household staff member and her child who was born more than 10 years ago have not been revealed in the report to protect their privacy.

Of course, Maria Shriver found it hard to accept Schwarzenegger's admission that she decided to part ways with the former California Governor.

Here's Arnold Schwarzenegger's statement, courtesy of the Los Angeles Times:

"After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.

"I ask that the media respect my wife and children through this extremely difficult time. While I deserve your attention and criticism, my family does not."

Los Angeles Times also has the statement of Maria Shriver with regard to Arnold Schwarzenegger's paternity admission:

"This is a painful and heartbreaking time. As a mother my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."

Arnold Schwarzenegger, now 63 years old and was a box-office movie star before he became a Governor of California, is planning to make a grand comeback in the movies.

Arnold and Maria have 4 children and it's only last week when they made public their decision to go separate ways.

George Yeo Press Conference

Singapore's outgoing Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo called a press conference today, May 10, 2011 3 days after losing in Singapore's 2011 General Elections.

At George Yeo's press conference, he officially announced his retirement from politics after serving for 23 long years.

On his Facebook Page, he also posted this photo along with the caption: "My last media conference at MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs)".

Here's the full transcript of George Yeo's statement at the press conference:

Thank you for waiting a couple of days for me to rest before meeting you.

I would like to make some remarks before taking questions.

Aljunied voters have decided and I respect their decision. Having committed 23 years of service to the residents, it is only natural for me to feel disappointed but this is politics.

It has been my privilege to have served them all these years and they have enriched my life. They have also enabled me to serve in various capacities as a Cabinet Minister in MITA, Health, MTI and MFA for which I am grateful.

    Why did we lose Aljunied?

Mr Low Thia Kiang himself said that they won Aljunied not because the Aljunied team did not do a good job, but because the voters wanted WP to be their voice in Parliament.

Mr Low's analysis is fair and I agree with him. This desire for a strong WP voice in Parliament was a political tide which came in through Aljunied which we were unable to withstand despite our very best efforts. Right from the start, the Workers Party made Aljunied a national battleground.

The fight became one between a Workers Party voice in Parliament and an Aljunied team with two ministers, a potential Speaker of Parliament, a potential minister and a most effective Town Council chairman.

Though I wish the outcome had been different, Aljunied voters have made their choice.

Many of my supporters asked me to stay on to win back Aljunied in five years time. I wanted to level with them and told them last night that it is better for a younger person to take on this important task. I'm already 57 years old and would be 62 by then. Naturally I would help to ensure a smooth handover.

As we ended our campaign on 5 May, I talked about the importance of transforming the PAP. This is a belief I've held for some time. It was not something I felt I could say when the campaign started. But, as the campaign went on, as we heard the growing cry from the heart, I decided to make it plain. Like it or not, we are entering a new phase in Singapore's political development. How we respond to it will decide Singapore's destiny in the 21st century.

I would help in whatever way I can to bring about this transformation of the PAP. I wish I had a mandate from the people of Aljunied to be a strong advocate of such transformation. But I don't.

As for remaining in public life, I will contribute in whatever modest way possible.

Many young people have stepped forward to help me in this campaign. Even more have cheered me on. It is not good that so many of them feel alienated from the Singapore they love. I look forward to continue working with them so that the Singapore we struggle for is the Singapore they feel is their own. As to the actual role I can play, I'll be happy to respond to them. In the last few years, I have learnt much from my young friends. Often they led me rather than I led them.

A younger generation has been politicized in this GE. Since the GE results came out, there has been a flood of support for me expressed personally, through friends and relatives, on email and, in an astonishing way, on Internet and FB. The words expressed are heartfelt. Many wrote me long passages, some in tears. I'm grateful for the kind and comforting words and the many good wishes. It will be an honour for me to be an advocate of their cause.

As for what I'll do professionally after stepping down as Minister when the new Cabinet is sworn in, I'm not rushing to make a decision. My wife and I thought we should take our time to think this over. We also need a break to spend more time with the family.

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank the people of Singapore for the honour of serving them in the last 23 years.

May 2 holiday? No. June 13? No. June 20? Yes!

Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda has cleared on Twitter that May 2 is a regular working day and not a regular non-working holiday.

May 2 is the day after the Labor Day, May 1, which falls on a Sunday and many assumed that the holiday will be moved to the nearest Monday, May 2.

But Lacierda posted his Twitter page (@dawende) that it's not a holiday.

<>/p>Meanwhile, in June, another holiday falls on a Sunday: June 12 (Independence Day).

And the holiday will stay on a Sunday and is most likely not to be moved on a Monday.

    Here's the inconsistency.

Philippine national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal's birth anniversary is coming this June 19, which also happens to be a Sunday, and the Malacanang Palace has declared June 20 (Monday) instead as a special non-working holiday.

Well, it's because Rizal's birth anniversary this year is extra special as it will be his "Sesquicentennial" birthday celebration.

    Proclamation No. 154

DECLARING MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2011, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

    WHEREAS, Sunday, June 19, 2011, marks the 150th birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our national hero;

WHEREAS, to give all Filipinos the opportunity to commemorate Rizal’s patriotic deeds and sacrifices for the country, rekindle their admiration and respect for him, and to celebrate this milestone with appropriate ceremonies, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) requested that Monday, June 20, 2011, be declared as special non-working holiday instead of June 19, 2011, which falls on a Sunday.

Easter Sunday Message of PNoy on video

It's Easter Sunday today and we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Easter Sunday could mean new hope for us, new beginning, new life and renewed self.

As what President Noynoy Aquino (PNoy) in his Easter Sunday message to us, Filipinos, Easter Sunday is only the beginning of our renewed relationship with Jesus.

He wished that everyone will continue live out teachings of Jesus and be of service to others.

Here's the full transcript of PNoy's Easter Sunday Mesage (courtesy of GMA News):

The video of PNoy's Easter Sunday Message was taped at the Lobby, Premier Guest House in Malacanang last April 19, 2011.

Shamcey Supsup and PNoy enjoy lunch together in GenSan

Shamcey Supsup and Pres. Noynoy Aquino met in General Santos City yesterday, April 14, 2011, during the latter's visit there for the 23rd National Convention of the Prosecutors League of the Philippines.

Supsup, who arrived a day ahead of Pnoy, welcomed the President and had lunch together at the East Asia Royale Hotel in GenSan.

And reportedly, PNoy, who's single and searching, was in great awe of Shamcey's beauty.

Here's a picture of Shamcey Supsup and PNoy holding, I mean, shaking hands:

    Shamcey Supsup Noynoy

As you can see in Pnoy's face, it's kinda obvious that he likes Shamcey haha. Look at his smile. It's a smile of someone who feels "kilig" and his left hand was like he was very much in "gigil" with the beautiful Shamcey Supsup.

    Supsup Noynoy? Bagay!!!

When they get married, she will be using this name: Shamcey Supsup-Aquino. Sounds so good right?

Sabrina Chua, PNoy's new girlfriend prospect?

Sabrina Chua is reportedly the latest prospect of PNOY to be his next girlfriend.

    Sabrina Chua PNoy dating?
Photo of Pres. Noynoy Aquino with (future first lady?) Sabrina Chua

Sabrina Chua, who I think is in her 30's already, is the Singapore-based reporter from Channel News Asia who's being linked recently to Philippine President Benigno Aquino III or PNOY.

A report from ABS-CBN News says that according to rumors (yeah just a rumor), PNOY got smitten by Sabrina when the latter interviewed her during the President's State Visit in Singapore 2nd week of March.

PNOY's spokesperson Edwin Lacierda was quick to deny the rumor in a recent statement.

Based on a lil information that I gathered, PNOY reportedly was quoted saying "I like her" after the interview and so maybe that's where it all started.

PNOY allegedly was impressed that Sabrina tried to interview him in Tagalog.

Her profile on Channel News Asia says that she's a senior producer in the network and is intrigued by human behaviour and psychology. Wow, read it "human behaviour and psychology"! It's a sign that she is also liking PNoy, who as a President, needs a woman beside and behind him to understand him in all aspect.

Sabrina is already the 5th woman to get linked with PNoy after he broke up with Shalani Soledad.

He was romantically linked to TV5 reporter Trish Roque, stylist Liz Uy, long-time friend Barbie Palagos and strockbroker Len Lopez.

I wish PNoy will succeed this time if it's indeed true that he wants Sabrina to be her girlfriend.

Panfilo Lacson, the fugitive Senator, returns after a year in hiding

Sen. Panfilo 'Ping' Lacson has returned to the country after more than a year of disappearance.

Senator Ping has arrived just today at the Mactan International Airport, 11:42 AM, on board a Cathay Pacific flight CX921, which was confirmed by PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz to ABS-CBN News.

And shockingly, he came from Hong Kong.

Yes, it comes as a surprise because the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has already concluded back in March 2010, based on its investigation, that Sen. Ping Lacson has already left Hong Kong.

The Malacañang Palace has welcomed Ping's return to the country. “We welcome the return of Senator Ping Lacson so that he can put closure to the accusations hurled against him," Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda told Yahoo! Southeast Asia.

Early this week, many people believed that Lacson might come out of hiding after the Court of Appeals has nullified the arrest warrant which was issued against him in connection with the Dacer-Corbito murder case filed in January 2010.

So, welcome back na lang Sen. Ping!!!

Lovi Poe seen crying in Hong Kong over Ronald Singson's jail sentence of 1 year and 6 months

Lovi Poe was reportedly seen crying after hearing Cong. Ronald Singson's sentence of 18 months jail term.

Lovi Poe went there in Hong Kong to show support for her boyfriend Ronald Singson who was arrested in July for possession of 6.67-gram cocaine and 2 tablets Nitrazepam and now, he has been sentenced to 1.5 years in jail.

GMA 7 has just reported that Lovi wasn't even allowed to come near Singson right after the sentence was read.

Lovi Poe and Ronald Singson photo
Lovi Poe and Cong. Ronald Singson sweet moment in the Philippines

    ***

Philippine Daily Inquirer reports Ronald Singson faces a jail term of 1 year and 4 months for the cocaine plus 2 months for the Nitrazepam, for a total of 18 months.

Cong. Singson could have faced a heavier sentence but it was reduced after he pleaded guilty and the Hong Kong judge believed the cocaine was for his personal use only.

I've read in a Reuters report via The Star in Malaysia the other reasons why Singson's sentenced was reduced to 18 months from supposedly 36 months.

The HK judge reportedly said that it was due to Singson's political career, being a businessman and having a clean criminal record.

And of course, his background, you know, coming from a well-known political family.

So, does it mean, if you're rich and powerful, you're sentence can be reduced?

That's why I don't like the judge's reasoning as to why Singson got a lighter sentence.

And since, he already served almost 8 months in jail, Singson's jail time will now just be more than 10 months. ABS-CBN News anchor Karen Davila said on Twitter, "Source in HK tells me Cong. Ronald Singson's sentence is 1 yr and 6 mos, but reduced to 10 mos 10 days jail time."

Angelo Reyes' life story to be made into movie

A movie about Sec. Angelo Reyes, who died on Tuesday, is what director Carlo J. Caparas is planning to produce.

Caparas and wife Donna Villa were among those who went to Sec. Angelo Reyes' wake at Camp Aguinaldo yesterday and there Direk Carlo said that he's interested in making a movie out of Sec. Reyes' life.

It will already be Direk Carlo's 2nd attempt to make a movie about Sec. Reyes. The first one was after the EDSA Dos where Reyes played an important part.

It's not yet sure though if the family of Reyes is open to that idea of making a movie about their patriarch.

The movie for sure will center on the honorable works of Reyes, from being the AFP Chief-of-Staff to his involvement in EDSA Dos and to being appointed Secretary of 4 various government offices.

It's a big challenge for the writers of the possible movie as to how they're gonna justify why Sec. Reyes committed suicide as his way to end up his honorable life.

According to Caparas, what Reyes did wasn't a suicide, but a sacrifice. "Kung gagawa kami ng istorya tungkol sa sundalo, ito na ang tinatawag natin na best dahil sa extreme courage na ipinakita ni Secretary Reyes. Sakripisyo ang ipinakita niya, hindi suicide," Caparas said on TV Patrol last night.

If you were to decide, who do you think should portray Sec. Angelo Reyes in a possible movie?

I think they'll be needing three generations of actors to play the role of Sec. Reyes.

Miriam Defensor Santiago, Mother Lily Monteverde both find Sen. Antonio Trillanes "handsome"

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago and Mother Lily Monteverde, who are prominent women in the country, both described Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as "very handsome" on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

Trillanes was definitely in his "handsomest" form that day, wasn't he?

Sen. Santiago expressed her admiration after Sen. Trillanes delivered his first ever sponsorship speech in the Senate since he was elected as Senator in 2007.

You can read more about it HERE.

On the evening of the same day, Sen. Trillanes attended the Chinese New Year 2011 celebration of Regal Films' matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde held at the Imperial Suites in QC.

[Mother Lily is a known supporter of Sen. Trillanes]

And there, Mother Lily also expressed that she finds the Senator as
"gwapo" and wants him to star in one of the films she's producing. "For me, he's a great guy. Very interesting...Sobrang gwapo niya," Mother Lily told the press, as reported on ABS-CBNNews.com.

Oh well, Sen. Trillanes looks like a bit of John Lloyd Cruz and if ever he's entering showbiz, he can play John Lloyd's older brother or his father. But since he's most likely to appear in a Regal movie, he can be in a love triangle with Eugene Domingo and Marian Rivera.

However, Sen. Trillanes reportedly said last night that he's not interested in joining showbiz because he doesn't have any talent (Pep.ph).

Aside from Trillanes, other celebs spotted at Mother Lily's Chinese New Year celebration were MTRCB chair Grace Llamanzares-Poe, Korina Sanchez, Boots Anson-Roa, Armida Siguion-Reyna, Direk Maryo J. Delos Reyes, Miriam Quiambao, Carla Abellana, Patrick Garcia, Ahron Villena, James Blanco, Rhap Fernandez, Annabelle Rama, Eddie Gutierrez, Carla Humphries, Paolo Paraiso, Michelle Madrigal, Bubbles Paraiso and many more.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes earns "handsome" remark from Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago

Senator Antonio Trillanes must be flattered to hear that the feisty Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago finds him as the "most handsome" in the Senate today.

On Wednesday, February 2, 2011, Sen. Trillanes delivered his first ever sponsorship speech in the Senate since he was elected as Senator in 2007.

[It was only last December when he was freed from prison where he spent 7 years after leading the Oakwood Mutiny in 2003.]

After Trillanes' speech, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago was quoted saying to everyone at the Senate: "I declare for the record that I find him (Senator Trillanes) to be the most handsome Senator standing in this House today."

It was shown on various news program last night.

Coming from Sen. Santiago, wow, it's very flattering isn't it? She
also suggested that Sen. Trillanes should try smiling once in a while for him to look even better.

The 39-year-old serious-type Trillanes was able to beat other goodlooking Senators such as former action stars Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid as well as
the mestizo Ralph Recto and even Bongbong Marcos, atleast in the high
    standards of Sen. Santiago.

Sexiest Politician: Alex Castro

I've seen in the news the Top 10 Prettiest Pinay Politicians by Spot.ph and so I hope they also make a list for male politicians.

Sexiest male politicians perhaps? And Marilao Sangguniang Bayan
Councilor Alexis "Alex" Castro should top the list, who recently made it to Cosmo 69 Bachelors for 2010.

Alex is now on his 2nd term as councilor but before that and even
before joining showbiz in 2007, he was already a Sangguniang Kabataan President in Marilao.

I hope all men in politics are pleasant-looking as Alex.

Inverted Philippine flag (upside down) at Obama-Aquino meeting

The first ever meeting of US President Barack Obama and Philippine
President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III last Friday has created a
controversy due to an inverted Philippine flag.

    inverted Philippine flag upside down

As seen in the photo above, the inverted Philippine flag was positioned behind President Noynoy during his meeting with Obama and other ASEAN leaders.

The Philippine flag was displayed upside down (with the red part on top of blue), it connotes that the country is declaring a war or in state of war.

Realizing the major major mistake, US Embassy spokesperson Rebecca Thompson immediately issued an apology on Sunday and stated that it
    was an honest mistake.

It's unknown who first took notice of the inverted Philippine flag but definitely it's not Pres. Noy who obviously didn't notice it 'coz if he did, he should have corrected it before he positioned himself at Obama's table.

With that, maybe it must be a practice from now on for the President and for any government officials to always check the Philippine flag.
