UAAP Season 74 Opening this July 9 | Meet La Salle Green Archers' roster of players

Simon Atkins will still be the Team Captain of the De La Salle Green Archers in the upcoming UAAP Season 74.

It's now Simon Atkin's 5th Year to play for the Green Archers and for his final year, he will be leading the team in getting back the UAAP championship title which was won by the team 4 years ago during Simon's debut year in UAAP.

Simon is the only one playing on his 5th year among La Salle Green Archers players and we shall see if he will have a great final year in UAAP.

Aside from Atkins, returning players for DLSU Green Archers are Luis Alfonso "Luigi" De la Paz, Jarelan Tampus, Enrique Raphael "Aiki" Herrera, Philip "Papot" Paredes, Almond Vosotros, Mark Jovet Mendoza, Alvin Joseph "Maui" Villanueva, Joshua David Webb, Samuel Joseph "Sam" Marata, Martin John Reyes and Yutien Andrada.

Luis Alfonso "LA" Revilla will make a grand comeback for the Green Archers this UAAP Season 74 after missing out two seasons.

But definitely the team's new additions next season excite me the most. These photos would tell you why...

I hope UAAP Season 74 will bring back the parade of players with their muses. Last year, there were no muses, but instead achievers from each school marched alongside the team captains.

For DLSU, Team Captain Simon Atkins escorted Enchong Dee during Season 73 Opening and let's all hope that for the new season, muses will be back and Atkins definitely would love to have Kim Chiu on his side as his muse. (Posible kaya?)

The UAAP Season 74 Opening Ceremonies will be held this July 9, that's a Saturday, at the Marikini Sports Center and will be aired live still on Studio 23.

Simon Atkins favored over Gerald Anderson: Poll

Simon Atkins was highly favored on Mykiru's Poll asking the voters if they like Simon for Kim Chiu.

The said poll was conducted after Simon expressed on Twitter that he likes to meet Kim Chiu.

Over a thousand voters took part in the poll and 769 of them or a big 76.29% voted "Yes".

It was indeed a strong approval from those who participated in the poll since those who selected NO and still wanted Gerald Anderson for Kim were only 143 or 14.19%.

5.36% of the voters meanwhile wanted Enchong Dee for Kim while 4.17% opted to give other answers.


It's quite interesting what the "Other Answers" were as submitted by voters who probably don't like Simon nor Gerald and Enchong for Kim.

The most common answer was "Sam Milby". Yeah, some of them wanted Sam for Kim, while others answered "Jason Abalos" who once courted Kim.

A lot of them also opted not to choose anyone, coz they're leaving it all up to Kim to decide who she thinks is best for her.

Simon Atkins sweet photo with Niña Jose surfaces online

Simon Atkins, who expressed on Twitter last month that he likes Kim Chiu, is reportedly dating sexy actress Niña Jose.

That's what the photo below of Simon Atkins and Niña Jose is trying to establish when it surfaced on Twitter.


It was uploaded by anonymous_jane on Twitpic and then the photo later circulated on Twitter creating speculations that Simon's current
girlfriend is Niña Jose, who also happens to be a former PBB housemate just like Kim and Simon's ex-gf Sam Pinto.

But the UAAP cager was quick to react on the photo, insisting they're just friends. "What's wrong with the picture? They created something out of that picture that isn't true," Simon said on Twitter as a
response to a question by his follower.

That photo controversy almost made Simon quit on Twitter, but good
thing it didn't happen and even posted recently that he wants to court
someone but he doesn't know how. "How to court a girl?? I really don't know what to do."

Is Simon now planning to court Kim? Go for it Simon!

Sam Milby denies dating Kim Chiu

Sam Milby and Kim Chiu were spotted together at Taylor Swift's concert last Saturday in Araneta Coliseum.

And many people have noticed Sam and Kim's "extra" sweetness and closeness at the said event.

On this photo taken at the concert, you can see Kim and Sam really close to each other, just like other lovers watching at the concert.


Fans are now asking, "Is Sam dating Kim?"

On SNN last night, Sam has denied that he's dating Kim or he dated her at Taylor Swift's concert.

According to Sam, they just met there and they're with their friends at the concert.

Sam is referring to Maja Salvador and Cacai Bautista who were with them that evening.

Kim and Sam started to get close as friends when they teamed up for an episode of "Your Song Presents: Kim" shown just recently.

So maybe, they're still in the stage of "getting to know each other".

Kim's admirer Simon Atkins still has a chance if he wants to pursue Kim.

Simon Atkins and Kim Chiu: a new loveteam is born | Poll: Do you like Simon for Kim? Vote now...

Fans have formed two names for a possible loveteam of Kim Chiu and Simon Atkins.

And those are "Kimon" (coined from Kim & Simon) and "ChiuKins" (Chiu & Atkins).

Which one do you like more?

The Kim Chiu and Simon Atkins loveteam already has its own Twitter account as well as a thread on PEX and a Facebook Page which is getting lots of "like" already.

It just goes to show that the fans are now more "open" to the idea of pairing up a new guy for Kim, the same way they accepted Kim's former loveteam partner Gerald Anderson in new loveteams (Jewerald, Ashrald).



The Kim Chiu-Simon Atkins loveteam was formed after the DLSU cager posted some tweets on Twitter, expressing that he likes Kim Chiu and wants to meet her.

Most of Simon's tweets during the last 10 days were about Kim. Among those tweets are as follows:

"No way of knowing her. Wala ako kakilala na friend nya."

"i want to meet kim?"

"@josefelizalde psst kim chiu! Pakilala mo ako haha"

"no date for me...K** where are you? :)" [posted on Valentine's Day]

According to Simon, he started to like Kim when he saw her personally at ABS-CBN last January while he was having dance practice with his team. "Na-starstruck ako!" is how he described the moment he saw Kim.

With Simon being so vocal on Twitter that he likes Kim, a fan once asked him if he's only after "publicity" and here's how he responded: "Publicity? I don't need that. I'm a fan like you. I don't have any bad motives. Stop thinking that way naman na parang I don't have a right to admire someone like her."

Yeah, I believe in you Simon. I don't think he's using Kim just to get attention.

And besides, Kim is very likeable naman talaga di ba?

On Kim's part, I think Simon is her type of guy: tall, mestizo and sporty, just like her "ex" Gerald Anderson.

I won't mind if Simon will be Kim's next boyfriend. How about you?

Yes, Enchong and Simon appeared together at the UAAP Season 73 2010-11 Opening
in Araneta Coliseum.

De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers' Team Captain Simon Atkins
was escorted by Enchong, who's a champion swimmer from La Salle,
during the team's introduction much to the delight of the fans in the
venue.

Why Enchong? And where were the muses?

But it was a "double hotness". Even the other teams' fans cheered for the DLSU because of the two's grand entrance.

And it seemed like Enchong served as a lucky charm for Atkins who led his team during the opening game with the UP Maroon Fighters.

Green Archers scored 80 points as against the Maroons' 62 points. And Simon Atkins was the highest pointer of the with 20 points.
