Bigtime celebs made a surprise appearance at Oprah's Farewell Show, which was taped last Tuesday, May 17, at the United Center in Chicago.

Dubbed as "The Farewell Season: Oprah's Surprise Spectacular", The Oprah Winfrey Show's finale / last episodes will be aired on May 23 and 24.Oprah's show is signing off after being on air for 25 years, the longest-running daytime talk show in the US.

Anne Curtis' followers on Twitter has now reached 1 million, becoming the first from the Philippines to reach the million mark.





Anne Curtis, who is an active Twitter user since March 2009, now has 1,003,302 followers on Twitter as of 2PM today, April 29, and Anne Curtis is ranked 388th worldwide, according to Twittercounter.com.

She is even ranked higher than Victoria Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Anne is also the only one from the Philippines to enter the Top 500 list of Twitter users with the most followers.

'Glee' return of Charice will be this April 19 | She will sing 'All By Myself'

Glee Season 2 is back this April 19 (April 20 in Manila) after a 1-month break and the show's comeback episode also marks the return of Pinoy pride Charice.

The new episode, which is already the Glee Season 2's 17th episode, is entitled "A Night of Neglect" and Charice will be reprising her role as Sunshine Corazon, who was already part of Glee Season 2 debut last September.

Charice will be singing the Eric Carmen/Celine Dion hit "All By Myself". Here's a teaser video of her performance:

Also set to return on Glee Season 2's "A Night of Neglect" episode is Gwyneth Paltrow as Miss Holly Holiday.

Her return on Glee is actually one of the many great things happening for Charice this month onwards.

On April 18, her single "Before It Explodes" which is written by Bruno Mars will be released on iTunes and Amazon.com.

Another song entitled "Louder" will be released in May, then one more, "Waiting Outside the Lines", a song by Youtube sensation Greyson Chance which features Charice.

Charice is also filming the Hollywood movie "Here Comes the Boom", where she portrays the role of student of Music. The movie is topbilled by Salma Hayek, Kevin James and Henry Winkler.

Pia Toscano is a huge fan of Charice | Faceoff: Pia and Charice "All By Myself"

Pia Toscano, the American Idol Season 10 finalist who got eliminated last week, has told HollywoodLife.com that she's a huge fan of Pinay singing sensation Charice.

According to the website's article posted Tuesday, Pia Toscano finds Charice as an amazing singer and admits she loves to watch Youtube videos of Charice singing Celine Dion songs.

“Charice Pempengco? She’s the most amazing singer ever. I would absolutely perform with her, she’s insane. When I was covering all of my Celine Dion songs, I would watch her videos. She’s just out-of-this-world amazing and I am such a huge fan of her,” Pia told Hollywood Life.

Now we know where Pia drew inspirations from when she sang "All By Myself" during one of her weekly performances on American Idol Season 10.

In fact, there's a video posted on Youtube last March 12 comparing Pia and Charice's versions of the song. Watch!!!


Pia, who was a strong contender on American Idol Season 10 but unfortunately got eliminated, will be back on the season finale and she reportedly wants to perform a duet with Charice on the finale.

Charice immediately responded to that and said she loves the idea. On Twitter, she said, "@PToscanoAI10 would love to perform with you too. :) you're so sweet."


Wow, let's all hope to see Pia and Charice performing together "All By Myself". (and change the song title to "All By Ourselves").

Charice covers Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' in her video greeting for popular gossip blogger Perez Hilton during the latter's birthday celebration last March 26.

Charice is also being compared of course to the original singer Lady Gaga. Gossip site Hollywoodlife.com conducted a poll asking its readers to choose who between Charice and Lady Gaga sing "Born This Way" better than the other, 86% of the voters voted for Charice.

Before Charice, Katy Perry also sang her own version of "Born This Way" during her concert early days of March. And many also said that Perry did it better than Gaga.

Maria Aragon, Thia Megia or Charice: Who's the best singer?

Maria Aragon, Thia Megia and Charice are three young Filipinas who are making headlines around the world for their incredible talent in singing.

And definitely, all three of them are making us all proud to be Filipinos.

10-year-old Fil-Canadian Maria Aragon rose to fame after Lady Gaga discovered her singing "Born This Way" on Youtube.

She got invited to appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "Good Morning America", and just last Thursday, she performed on stage with no less than Lady Gaga. And it all happened in just 2 weeks.

From 'America's Got Talent', Thia Megia meanwhile is again making a name for herself as among the Final 13 of American Idol Season 10. This Fil-Am girl is only 15, but sounds and sings like a pro, that even American Idol host Ryan Seacrest couldn't believe she's just 15.

She recently impressed the American Idol judges with "Out Here On My Own" and even reminded them of Michael Jackson.

Thia will definitely stay longer in the competition and let's all hope that she'll be the first Pinoy to win on American Idol.

Charice on one hand has achieved a lot already, including her GLEE-ful performances.

She also started gaining recognition at a young age of 15 and she will certainly continue to bring honor for our country.

You've heard them all sing and definitely they all sing great, but I want to know, who among them sings the best?

Ogie Diaz issues apology to Charice and her fans for offensive Twitter remarks

Ogie Diaz has already issued today his public apology to Charice and her fans, the Chasters.

It's in connection with Ogie Diaz's opinion against Charice published in his column at Pinoy Parazzi and for his Twitter remarks against the "Glee" Star.

His article in Pinoy Parazzi was titled "Charice, walang 'K' magpaka-Hollywood sa Pinas" and was published yesterday.

Ogie allegedly also posted foul tweets on Twitter against the Chasters days before his write-up.

As reported on TV Patrol earlier, Ogie said sorry both via his Twitter account (@ogiediaz) and thru an official statement read on the said news program.

If you visit Ogie Diaz's Twitter page, all of his tweets within the last 24 hours are apologies to Charice and her fans.

He's reaching out to Charice on Twitter but the latter is still silent and hasn't posted a single tweet yet since last week.

With Ogie posting tweets of apologies many times already instead of his usual blind items and playing jokes with his followers, it makes some people wonder why all of a sudden Ogie becomes apologetic just a day after his negative write-up against Charice and

How true is the rumor that Ogie was pressured to say a public apology because he's allegedly threatened by ABS-CBN to be removed from his two Kapamilya shows, E-Live and "Mutya", if he won't do so?

Charice to perform at NBC's Christmas 2010 Special, airing this November 30

NBC has announced last Wednesday the line-up of performers for its 13th annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center Special.

And among the performers is our very own Charice, who is listed alongside big-time names such as Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Jessica Simpson and Susan Boyle.

Charice will indeed bring another pride to the Philippines after making us feel proud of her Glee appearance in September.

The said Christmas 2010 Special will be aired this November 30, 8 to 9 PM, on NBC.

And a day after that, we should also watch out for the announcement of the 53rd Grammy nominations. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Charice will score her first Grammy nomination.

Charice's "Listen" debuts at # 38 on Billboard Hot 100

Charice's own version of Beyonce's "Listen" makes an impressive debut on Billboard Hot 100.

The song, which Charice (as Sunshine Corazon) sang on Glee Season 2 Premiere the other week, debuts at #38 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It's kinda impressive because according to Examiner.com, Beyonce's version peaked at #61 back in 2007.

That means, Beyonce's version reached its highest position at #61 and definitely it debuted lower than #61, much lower than that of Charice. Wow!

Charice's "Listen" is also making a debut on Billboard Top 40 Digital Songs (at #19) and on Canadian Hot 100 (at #51).

Another "Glee" song, "Telephone", which was a duet by Lea Michele and Charice, has also landed on the latest Billboard Hot 100, debuting at a high #23. It's also #11 on Top 40 Digital Songs and #17 on Canadian Hot 100.

Charice on her "Glee" character: Sunshine Corazon is very, very Charice!

If "major, major" is for Venus Raj and "owver, owver" is for Melai Cantiveros, then Charice also has her own and that is "very, very".

Charice graced the premiere party of "Glee Season 2" yesterday in California and at the red carpet, Charice was asked by a reporter about her character (Sunshine Corazon) in the show.

She said: "I'm very, very happy that my character is Sunshine. Sunshine is very, very Charice, simple one, shy type."

And when asked about Lea Michelle, her rival in Glee, Chariced excitingly said, "We're like frenemies, I think that's the word...and we're gonna sing a very, very big song, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. It's 'Telephone'! So, it's gonna be amazing."

It has actually been Charice's habit to stress the word "very". In May 23, during her album launch in Glorietta, Charice told the audience: "I'm sure matutuwa kayo. A lot of people are talking about this thing. Very, very happy ako na naging part ako...ng...ng...eto."

And also last July 23 in Thailand, she was asked by a Filipino reporter about Sam Concepcion, who beat her in "Little Big Star" five years ago and Charice answered: "Well, I'm very, very proud naman sa kanya."

It has become a Filipino way already to stress a word by repeating it twice, as one UP Professor said in an interview before. And there's actually nothing wrong with that.

But some people are already making fun of it, just like during the time when Venus Raj answered "major major" in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant. (Search "Charice very very" on Twitter. She's also trending there now.).

The said interview with Charice at the red carpet premiere party for Glee was shown on TV Patrol tonight and I was so much impressed with the way she talked. She conversed so well and sounded so good in an American accent. Keep it up Charice!

WCOPA 2010 top winners are Filipinos: Marielle Corpuz and Lianah Sta. Ana

The 14th World Championships Of the Performing Arts (WCOPA 2010) has
concluded Friday night with 2 Filipina singers emerging as champions.

The finale was held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in L.A. and was shown via online streaming at the WCOPA site 7 PM Friday in LA, but around 10 AM Saturday here.

24-year-old Rose Marielle Mamaclay aka Marielle Corpuz from the Team Philippines won the Senior Vocal event, then later announced as the
Over-All Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World for 2010.

It's the same title won by Jed Madela back in 2005.

Marielle already competed in WCOPA 2008 but she failed to win the Senior Vocal Championship.

She is a graduate of BS Hotel, Restaurant & Institution Management from Wesleyan University-Philippines in Nueva Ecija.

The Junior Division of WCOPA 2010 also had a Pinay champion, but a Fil-Am singer from the Team USA.

She is 11-year-old Lianah Sta. Ana and she won as Junior Vocal Champion and Over-All Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World, a title also won by Aria Clemente in 2007, Catherine Loria in 2008 and Rhap Salazar in 2009.

Lianah already won a number of singing competitions in the US such as New York Knicks' Kidz Bop Sports Jamz Talent Search and the Apollo
Amateur Night Competition, both happened this year.

She was also a guest performer at the Heartthrobs and Friends Live in the US concert headlined by Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby last April.

Also a Youtube sensation, Lianah is described as the next Charice Pempengco.

She idolizes Charice and loves to sing Charice's hits "Note to
God" and "Pyramid".

Usher knows Pacquiao but not Charice

A few hours before his Live in Manila concert, R&B Superstar Usher is
being talked about not because of the nearing concert, but of a statement he made during the press conference last night.

Usher was just honest to say that he hasn't heard of Charice when asked if he knows the Filipina teen sensation.

I have just read an article at Manila Bulletin today and Usher's exact
statement about it was: "Actually I haven't heard about her, but I'm pretty sure, soon I will."

It's kinda shocking because all we thought was Charice is already widely famous in the US.

David Foster and Oprah Winfrey's goddaughter Charice has dominated the
Billboard charts and is now set to star in "Glee". She was featured
on CNN, sang with Celine Dion and already guested on a number of American TV shows, including her 4 guestings on Oprah.

But Usher, who's a famous singer, a successful record producer and
Justin Bieber's manager co-manager / mentor, still hasn't heard of her.

Maybe he hasn't turned on his TV for a long time and too busy with Justin Bieber.

Usher, however, is a fan of Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. He's
rooting for him if in case Pacquiao will fight against Floyd
Mayweather Jr in the future.

The "Usher Live in Manila" concert happens tonight at SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. It's produced by Fearless Productions, who 's already
planning to bring Justin Bieber here.
