25th PMPC Star Awards for Movies (2009) winners

Jericho Rosales is a PMPC favorite!

Two years ago, Jericho was honored as Movie Actor of the Year by the PMPC Star Awards for Pacquiao: The Movie and this year, for the movie Baler, his movie comeback after over two years, Jericho has won the same honor once more from the same award-giving body.

Jericho won as Best Actor, his 4th movie acting award so far, in the 25th PMPC Star Awards for Movies, which was held last night, May 28, 2009, at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU).

He bested out 6 nominees, including heavy contender Baron Geisler who already received Best Actor honors for Jay at the Cinemalaya, Gawad Tanglaw and ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards.

Mother and daughter Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion were also big winners this year. Sharon (Caregiver) was Movie Actress of the Year while KC (For the First Time) was New Movie Actress of the Year.

Former sexy actor Emilio Garcia is fast becoming a multi-awarded actor. PMPC honored him for the second consecutive time as Movie Supporting Actor of the Year, his 4th acting award already in just a span of one year.

Viva Films' Baler is the most awarded film this year, with 9 awards including Best Picture, Best Director for Mark Meily and Best Actor for Jericho Rosales.
