Awayang Angel Locsin at Claudine Barretto

PDA Season 2 Expulsion Night: Iñaki vs Christian

Two of the least popular scholars of Pinoy Dream Academy are on probation and one of them will be expelled tonight.

Who between Christian Alvear and Inaki Ting will complete the Headmaster's List (Top 10 scholars)?

Based on Mykiru's popularity poll, it's going to be a tough fight between the two but the majority of PDA viewers wouldn't even care as to whoever leaves tonight.

The poll says, Christian will leave the Academy.

On my part, I want Inaki to stay inside the Academy, because he can still improve. As for Christian, there will be no more improvement, unless he changes voice.

    ****

    Still on Pinoy Dream Academy...

How true is the news that Bea Muñoz and Miguel Mendoza are not really lovers?

We have witnessed how the two acted out as boyfriend and girlfriend in the academy, had some romantic moments as well as non-sense fights.

The two also revealed they don't have commitments to each other and what they only have is an "open relationship."

Did they only use each other for the sake of being part of PDA?

On The Buzz, Bea even chose Bugoy over Miguel as the season's grand star dreamer.

    ****

Last night, it was revealed that Catherine 'Poy' Palma of Zamboanga City will be the season's Honorary Scholar and will have the privilege of becoming an official star if she fulfills the tasks given to her by the Academy.

On PDA's site, it is stated that the Honorary Scholar’s main task is to challenge the top ten Official Scholars, by being the Star Scholar of the Week.

If she does, she will have a P50,000 reward.

Three Star Scholar of the Week titles for Poy would mean either P150,000 and leave the Academy or officially become a Scholar and the rare chance of being the Grand Star Dreamer of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2.

    ****

Also revealed last night were the scholars' General Point Average and leading them is Liezel Garcia.

Here's the rankings of the scholars based on their previous performances.

    1. Liezel 8.86
    2. Bugoy 8.10
    3. Laarni 7.20
    4. Apple 7.02
    5. Van 7.00
    6. Iñaki 6.77
    7. Miguel 6.76
    8. Sen 6.73
    9. Bunny 6.66
    9. Christian 6.66
    10. Cris 6.34

Panky Trinidad fails to reach WCOPA 2008 finals

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 Top 6 scholar Panky Trinidad failed to penetrate the final rounds of the ongoing 12th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood.

As of Thursday, only three Junior and one Senior Filipino contestants made it to the Vocal Category finals and they are Catherine Loria, Rachel Razon, Tippy dos Santos and Marielle Corpuz.

Each one of them has the chance to bring home the gold and hopefully, be named as the year's over-all grand champion performer, just like Jed Madela and Aria Clemente in the past.

Panky only managed to reach the semis, along with Glee Nette Gaddi, Dex de Rosa, Abe Dorado and the Sison brothers.

Other Philippine representatives such as Cherry Palad, CJ Concepcion and Paolo Ledesma were eliminated in the early part of the competition.

Here's a bonus video of Grand finalist Catherine Loria, singing 'When You Believe':

Blind Item: Matt Evans in video scandal?

On my part, I'm far more excited to see new BENCH models such as John Lloyd Cruz, Dingdong Dantes, Bea Alonzo, Priscilla Meirelles, JC De Vera, Be Bench Model Search winners and Sarah Geronimo.

According to some news reports, si Dingdong Dantes ang unang rarampa sa opening ng show samantalang si Richard Gutierrez naman daw ay may espesyal na number in the middle of the show.

How about Piolo Pascual? Save the best for last daw ang drama ni Papa PJ ngayong taon at siya ang pinakahuling rarampa sa lahat ng mga modelo.

Wow, ano kaya ang ipapakita ni Piolo? Ahmm.. mukhang may sorpresa. Mag-underwear lang kaya siya?

At pano naman si Sam Milby?

It's something we really have to watch out for.

PDA Popularity Poll: Who's going up?

Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 Van Pojas and Hansen Nichols (photo) maintain great popularity by leading Mykiru's Popularity Poll, but two other scholars are posing big threats in grabbing the top spots.

Bicol's Bugoy has climbed up, now in the 3rd place, tied with equally talented Liezel Garcia.

The Bicolano pride has a lot of supporters, but he should learn to make the best out of it, by focusing more on his lessons in the Academy and not by concentrating on his "matters of the heart" with Van and Sen.

Liezel, on one hand, has been consistently receiving high grades and if that continues, she's going to be a top contender for the Top 3 Grand Dreamers.

Cristina Pastor's popularity has slipped, dropping from 3rd place to 5th.

Would you believe, "breakdown" girl Laarni Losala is far more popular than four other scholars, who are still in the academy, including Miguel Mendoza?

For tomorrow's expulsion night, it is expected that voters will favor Miguel over his girlfriend Bea Muñoz.

Despite two consecutive good performances, Christian Alvear is still the least favored scholar of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2 as far as Mykiru's poll is concerned.

Here's the partial results of Mykiru's Popularity Poll:

    Van Louelle Pojas 16%
    Hansen 'Sen' Nichols 12%
    Jay 'Bugoy' Bogayon 11%
    Maria Liezel Garcia 11%
    Cristina 'Cris' Pastor 9%
    Chivas Anton Malunda 7%
    Jovanni 'Bunny' Malunda 6%
    Apple Abarquez 6%
    Laarni Losala 6%
    Miguel Mendoza 5%
    Ranjit 'Jet' Singh 3%
    Jun Ross Dio 2%
    Beatriz 'Bea' Muñoz 2%
    Michelle 'Sheng' Belmonte 2%
    Rafael Ignacio 'Iñaki' Ting 2%
    Christian Alvear 2%

Happy Birdy Diet!

Teleserye Prince Diether Ocampo will become a year older as he turns 32 tomorrow, July 19, 2008.

Diether's 32nd birthday celebration is yet to come but is now being faced with a "little" controversy, in relation to his past birthday celebration.

The hunky actor is being haunted by his "pajama" birthday party at the Big Sky Mind in 2006, which was believed to be organized then by former girlfriend Kristine Hermosa.

There's actually nothing wrong with the theme of the party, but fans are now worried of the photos that first leaked to Pinoy Urge, wherein long-haired Diether was shot in pyjama, with a little 'naughty' twist.

The photos, which was first posted on a Multiply account in September of 2006, then leaked to Pinoy Urge last February, solicited some reactions.

A fan of Kristine finds it "malaswa" even if it was just for fun or meant to be a joke.

Another fan is worried with Diet's image as the founder of K.I.D.S. (Kabataang Inyong Dapat Suportahan) Foundation in the Philippines.

"The censored pics should be kept in the chest and should not be allowed for public viewing. Better if they might as well burn the censored pics or delete the videos in their cellphones. My hubby and I already saw the deleted pics and some guests in the said 30th or 31st bday party of Diet in 2006 even took videos or photos. Diet shouldn't do it again even just for "fun". Others might question his decency as a proponent for the KIDS Foundation. We should set as good examples to the kids," said the fan.

I think the birthday party happened prior to Diether's involvement in the KIDS Foundation.

As an actor, Diether had been very daring when it comes to the roles he portrayed in movies such as La Vida Rosa (2001), Bahid (2002) and Nasaan Ka Man (2005).

Miss USA falls on stage - AGAIN?

Miss USA Crystle Stewart unexpectedly fell down on stage during the Evening Gown competition in the Miss Universe 2008 Pageant held in Nha Trang, Vietnam Sunday evening (US Time).

It greatly affected her catwalk and compo that time, leading to her exclusion from the Top 5.

Had it been Crystle didn't slip on stage, she could have been in the Top 5 finalists.

It's almost the same thing that happened to Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith, who also slippedduring the Evening Gown competition in Miss Universe beauty pageant last year.

The differences are that, Smith was booed by the audience and she didn't clap her hands.

Why it happened again to a Miss USA? Has it something to do with the shoes?

Miss USA indeed could not be spared from controversies like this. (I would never want to be a Miss USA. Haha!)
