Earthquake in Isabela, Philippines, May 21, 2011, causes panic

    Earthquake Alert on "Judgment Day"!

    The Philippines was hit by a strong earthquake at 9:08 PM today, May 21, 2011.

    Take note of the date: May 21, 2011, which according to a prediction by American Christian radio host Harold Camping is the Judgment Day.

    Is it a sign? Definitely not, as May 21, 2011 is going to end already in the Philippines in half an hour from now and yet, nothing has happened except for that earthquake.

    The new Philippine earthquake happening 9:08 PM Saturday, May 21, 2011, registered at 5.5 magnitude and was strongly felt in Ilagan, Isabela in Northern Luzon, according to PHIVOLCS.

    According to a report from ABS-CBN News, it caused panic to residents there in Ilagan, Isabela thinking it was a sign of the End of the World, as predicted by Camping that major earthquakes will happen around the world today.

    The United States Geological Survey (USGS) measured it at only 5.3-magnitude with a depth of 45.1km, at 21-km distance northwest from Ilagan, Isabela, 153-km distance from Baguio City and 305-km distance from Manila.

    Reported intensities are as follows:
    Intensity V - Ilagan, Isabela
    Intensity IV- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; Penablanca, Cagayan; Quirino, Isabela; Tumawini, Isabela; Baler, Aurora
    Intensity II - Baguio City; Tabuk, Kalinga

    There were no reported major damages from the May 21, 2011 Philippine earthquake.

    Eleven days ago (May 10, 2011), an earthquake of the same magnitude has already hit the Philippines with epicenter at General Santos City.

    Then two stronger earthquakes happened in March: first, a 6.1-magnitude in Laoag, Ilocos Norte last March 20 then a 5.7-magnitude quake rocked Lubang, Occidental Mindoro the next day, March 21 (exactly 2 months ago).
