Joaquin Bordado, which stars Robin Padilla and Iza Calzado, had a successful debut last night, February 11, 2008, with a pilot rating of 36.6% in Mega Manila.
Since it's Robin Padilla's 2nd show for GMA 7, it can't be avoided that his new show will be compared with his previous series Asian Treasures, co-starring then with Angel Locsin.
Aired on the same timeslot, Asian Treasures had an initial rating of 41.8% last January 15, 2007 while Joaquin Bordado garnered its first rating of 36.6% last February 11, 2008, a modest rating as far as GMA is concerned.
For the past three years, Joaquin Bordado's debut rating is the 8th highest, tied with that of Marimar.
Joaquin Bordado could still reach higher grounds on the coming days just like what Marimar has achieved since it started last August. It only had a pilot rating of 36.6% but its ratings thereafter could reach as high as 49.5%.
